Berlin transplant Dr. Zanna Parker (Jones) begins her new job at a Neukölln hospital after a personal issue drives her from Munich.[4] Here, she must lead an underfunded ER team, and balance the needs of her initially hostile staff with demands from the hospital’s management. Among the other doctors are Ben Weber (Popadić), a generous but rule-bending doctor who is privately struggling with addiction and frequently parties with Kian Amini, one of his fellow doctors at the hospital; Emina Ertan (Şengül), a serious and exceedingly competent Turkish-German doctor, and Dominik Kohn, an undertrained doctor who hides his mistakes.[5] Patients are brought into the hospital by EMTs Olaf (Schütz) and Olivia (Breuer), whose outlooks on their patients begin to clash.

Haley Louise Jones as Dr. Zanna Parker, a doctor originally from Munich who is starting at her new position in an overwhelmed and underfunded emergency department

Slavko Popadić as Dr. Ben Weber, an altruistic doctor who makes an effort to help those who have fallen through the cracks despite his own hidden addiction

Benjamin Radjaipour as Dr. Kian Amini, Ben’s clubbing partner who looks out for his friend’s health

Aram Tafreshian as Dr. Dominik Kohn, a secretly incompetent doctor who covers his tracks with lies

Şafak Şengül as Dr. Emina Ertan, a technically talented and no-nonsense doctor with a soft spot for Olivia

Samirah Breuer as Olivia Kropf, a young EMT trainee with fresh enthusiasm to help others

Bernhard Schütz as Olaf Hendel, a seasoned EMT who harbors disdain for the young drug-taking clubbers that he and Olivia save

The cast took ER internships or training in order to learn the various attitudes and skills displayed by emergency room workers.[6] The extras included real nurses and hospital staff, and a medical advisor was on set to ensure accuracy.[7]
