One group of bronze coins from Palestine, dated after the coinage reform of the late 690s, features the image of a seven-branched candelabra (menorah) and then later of a five-branched candelabra, topped by an Arabic inscription of the shahada.[7] These images may have been based on Christian representations of the menorah[7] or on earlier Hasmonean models.
