Indrajaal Drone Defence India Pvt. Ltd. (commonly known as Indrajaal) is an Indian defense technology company specializing in the development of advanced autonomous Anti-Drone/Counter-Unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS), which is based in Hyderabad, Telangana[1][2][3].
It was cofounded in 2023 by Kiran Raju, Wing Commander MVN Sai, and Sunil Kalidindi in the year 2023[4][5]. Indrajaal aims to sell systems to the Indian Ministry of Defence and other Private organizations in India, that will incorporate artificial intelligence and robotics. Indrajaal’s major products include unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and counter-UAS (CUAS), semi-portable autonomous surveillance systems, and networked command and control software.
In 2025, Indrajaal announced a series of autonomous anti drone weapons systems faster and of longer range than it’s near-peer Indian geopolitical rivals[6][7]. It’s AI-enabled systems integrate radar and radio-frequency (RF) sensors, electronic warfare jamming and spoofing tools, and interceptor drones to detect, track and neutralise aerial threats[8][2]. The Indrajaal Company was created specifically to combat dangers posed by loitering munitions and weaponized autonomous swarm drones. In 2025, Indrajaal unveiled the Ranger, a 4×4 all-terrain Anti-Drone Patrol Vehicle (ADPV) described as India’s first fully mobile counter-drone vehicle[9][10][11][12].
The Indrajaal Drone Defence India Private Limited, a division of Grene Robotics, a Hyderabad-based robotics firm. Indrajaal Company was created in response to the growing threats posed by weaponized drones and loitering munitions to the Indian Army and other critical infrastructure. The Firm was established in the early 2023 and gained momentum after examining the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which includes the deployment of loitering munition and swarm drones.[13][14][15]
In September 2023 Grene Robotics publicly demonstrated the Indrajaal’s wide-area anti-drone system in Hyderabad[16]. The system was touted as capable of providing 360° protection over areas up to 4,000 km² using 12 layers of modular technology[17]. Following development and trials, Indrajaal Drone Defence was formally launched.
In 2025 the company introduced its first products. In November 2025 it announced the Indrajaal Ranger, the country’s first mobile anti-drone patrol vehicle[9][18]. This vehicle was designed to detect and neutralise UAVs while on the move. Around the same time, Indrajaal marketed fixed C-UAS configurations (branded as Indrajaal Infra) for protecting infrastructure and border sites[19][20].
In January 2026 the Indian Ministry of Defence awarded Indrajaal four contracts (worth about ₹100 crore) to supply its counter-drone systems to the Army and Navy[1][2]. Company representatives stated that these systems would be deployed at western naval ports and along eastern land borders to protect strategic assets[21].
Operations and presence
[edit]
Indrajaal is headquartered in Hyderabad, India[1]. Its products are targeted at domestic defence and security agencies. The company’s announced contracts involve deployment of its C-UAS systems at Indian Army and Navy installations[1][2]. Specifically, Indrajaal Infra units will be installed at naval ports on India’s western coast and at eastern-border army bases[21]. These deployments indicate focus on safeguarding key Indian assets against drone incursions. As of 2026 there are no confirmed foreign customers; Indrajaal has expressed interest in exports but public evidence is limited to domestic contracts.
Recognition and coverage
[edit]
Indrajaal’s technology has attracted media and industry attention. Mainstream outlets such as NDTV[8], India Today[22] and The Economic Times[9] have reported on its anti-drone systems and vehicle. Specialist defence publications (e.g. GPS World[23], The Defense Post[24]) also covered the Ranger vehicle and counter-UAS tech. During its 2023 demonstration, Uttarakhand Governor Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Gurmit Singh called Indrajaal a “futuristic solution” to India’s aerial security challenges[17]. Company leaders have highlighted successful trial interceptions of illicit drug- and weapon-laden drones by Indrajaal prototypes (as reported in news accounts)[18]. No awards or official industry recognitions have been documented beyond these media reports.
