Note to self: To prevent date discrepancies, do not create archives on Internet Archive between 12am and 8am, and (at least on Singaporean articles anyway) do not use archives apparently generated between 4pm and 12am the next day (they use GMT)

Efn on GRC minority candidates (for copy-paste): Every team in a GRC is legally required to contain at least one minority (i.e. non-Chinese) candidate, either Malay or Indian/other (other being not Chinese, Malay or Indian). The mandatory minority category in a GRC is determined by the <nowiki>[[President of Singapore|President]]</nowiki>. The number of GRCs requiring Malay candidates at a general election must be three-fifths of the total number of GRCs, or, if that is fractional, the next highest whole number.<nowiki><ref>[https://sso.agc.gov.sg/Act/PEA1954#pr8A- Parliamentary Elections Act, ss. 8A(1)(b) and (3)].</ref></nowiki> (working efn:{{Efn|Every team in a GRC is legally required to contain at least one minority (i.e. non-Chinese) candidate, either Malay or Indian/other (other being not Chinese, Malay or Indian). God, grant me the serenity to accept the pages I cannot edit,

The courage to edit the pages I can,

And the wisdom to know the difference. (taken from user page of The Wordsmith; see Wikipedia:Wikipedihol#WikiPrayer)

This user does not smoke. There are cooler ways to die.

This user opposes the use of generative artificial “intelligence” software on Wikipedia.

What do I do?

Making Singapore great again

I edit articles on Singaporean politics

I also created the article Ong Teng Koon… which was flagged for copyright violations

Other stuff

Kind of contradictorily (being LGBT+), I wanna become a politician for the People’s Action Party (PAP) later on in life (to make Singapore great again)

Or not? If a certain Deryne Sim tells us anything[1]

Oh yeah please smack me with the cheapest fish you can get in your vicinity if they fall off by the time I become an adult

For an alternate history of Singapore/template for writing a Singaporean politician’s infobox, see this

For a map of GE2025, see this

For a map of (politically defined) towns in northeastern Singapore, see this

For that of eastern Singapore, see this

For that of northern Singapore, see this

For that of central Singapore, see this

Identity GRCing

“The Committee noted the use of double-barrelled names to better reflect the identities of the geographical areas in the GRCs. The Committee recommended continuing this practice for the new GRCs viz., Jurong East-Bukit Batok (lost the west), Pasir Ris-Changi (lost Punggol) and West Coast-Jurong West (nearly got lost to the PSP last time) GRCs. It also recommended renaming Marine Parade GRC as Marine Parade-Braddell Heights GRC. (casually invades Tin Pei Ling’s MacPherson SMC)”[2]

More ideas of identity-based gaming the EBRC might benefit from:

  • Aljunied GRC/Aljunied–Hougang TC: Hougang–Bedok North
  • Ang Mo Kio GRC/TC: Ang Mo Kio–Hougang North
  • Bishan–Toa Payoh GRC: absorb Marymount SMC (TC: take in Potong Pasir SMC because it’s in the Toa Payoh planning area)
  • Bukit Panjang SMC: Bukit Panjang East
  • Chua Chu Kang GRC: Chua Chu Kang–Tengah (TC: Chua Chu Kang–Bukit Gombak–Tengah)
  • East Coast GRC (itself a town): Bedok–Tampines South
  • Holland–Bukit Timah GRC: Bukit Panjang West–Bukit Timah (TC: Bukit Panjang–Bukit Timah)
  • Hougang SMC: Hougang Central
  • Jalan Kayu SMC (itself a town): Sengkang West
  • Jurong East–Bukit Batok GRC/Jurong–Bukit Batok–Clementi TC: Jurong East–Bukit Batok–Clementi Central
  • Marymount SMC: as said, delete in favour of Bishan–Toa Payoh GRC
  • Pioneer SMC: keep the name, only because “Jurong West Central SMC” would be weird
  • Sembawang TC: Sembawang–Woodlands East
  • Sembawang West SMC: Woodlands East
  • Tampines GRC/TC: Tampines North
  • Tanjong Pagar GRC/TC: Telok Blangah–Bukit Merah
