There is a requested move discussion at Talk:NoB#Requested move 9 October 2025 that may be of interest to members of this WikiProject. —pro–anti–air ––>(talk)<–– 22:21, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
There’s a discussion about using Voice123 as a reliable source for voice actors at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard#Voice123. Input from project members would be very much appreciated. Lord Sjones23 (talk – contributions) 03:09, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
There’s a discussion on improving the Emily Neves article to B-Class/GA status over at Talk:Emily Neves#B-class/GA-class efforts. Any input from project members would be very much appreciated. sjones23 (talk – contributions) 20:36, 21 October 2025 (UTC)
I’ve just raised a discussion about a potential addition of Elise Baughman‘s Anime Adventures YouTube TV show at Talk:Elise Baughman#Anime Adventures if anyone’s interested. sjones23 (talk – contributions) 09:59, 22 October 2025 (UTC)
Over the past few months or so, I’ve noticed that some of the task forces that belong to this project are now defunct. While I’m discussing possibilities on how to handle defunct WikiProject(s) in general over at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Council#Defunct WikiProject Concerns, I figured I would also like to make a jumpstart on our own sub-project. What I would like to do here is to discuss with members of the Anime project and determine if we can merge the following defunct task forces back to WP:ANIME or leave them as is:
Thoughts? sjones23 (talk – contributions) 21:11, 24 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Sjones23: I would say to merge them back into the main WP:ANIME topic. If the task forces are defunct, I see little, if any, reason to reinstate them. Compared to a WikiProject such as WP:POKEMON, they are small and do not warrant having their own task forces. Z. Patterson (talk) 10:53, 27 October 2025 (UTC)
- The issue is deeper than that. Looking at Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga/Navbox, here’s each of the task forces that are not listed as inactive:
This project pretty much has only one active task force currently. The rest have little to no interest in years. Honestly, they could all probably be tagged as inactive except for Studio Ghibli. Link20XX (talk) 04:40, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- I think the biography and conventions page should be more active and have some substantial discussion at least. Or we can mark the pages as semi-active. sjones23 (talk – contributions) 04:53, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- I don’t see why just those two should be marked as semi-active; they have no more activity than the others currently. Link20XX (talk) 04:57, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- We could to ask around and see if any active editors of this project (if they aren’t retired, deceased or indef blocked/banned) are willing to help out on any of the task forces you have listed. I’ll notify each project and see if they are willing to participate in this discussion. After all, there is no deadline. sjones23 (talk – contributions) 05:00, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Sure, it’s always possible they could get more activity in the future and marking them as inactive does not mean they can never become active again someday. This is true for any project tagged as inactive. That being said, tagging them as “inactive” acknowledges the current reality and can lead them to this page, which is much more active and thus more likely to generate a reply. Link20XX (talk) 05:11, 28 October 2025 (UTC)

- Issue with conventions are, is that very few newer events are doing the traditional PR work needed to establish notability. Example would be Rhode Island Anime Con, the Comic Con by the same company is flush with press, the anime con isn’t. There’s several older articles that need deep dive rebuilds, but that’s when time permits. Sadly, in the last year alone, several conventions went to the inactive/defunct list that had articles, and most are nowhere near returning. Esw01407 (talk) 15:54, 28 October 2025 (UTC)

- So, is there any opposition to tagging all of our current task forces except for the Studio Ghibli one as inactive? Link20XX (talk) 01:46, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- I tried my best to make the Biography page active by notifying users of the relevant talk page discussions to see if they can participate in helping out. sjones23 (talk – contributions) 01:49, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- Alright, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt on that one. But what about the others I mentioned above? Link20XX (talk) 01:52, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- I’ve notified all of the WikiProjects (including WP:VG, WP:BIOG and WP:NOVELS) who are involved in the task forces and will see if are willing to participate in this discussion and share their thoughts. sjones23 (talk – contributions) 02:10, 29 October 2025 (UTC)

- @Link20XX: I am not opposed to your idea to tag all current task forces except the Studio Ghibli one as inactive. Z. Patterson (talk) 02:52, 29 October 2025 (UTC)

While I’m not opposed to the idea of making the relevant task forces inactive, we can also recruit some editors interested in participating in the task forces and updating the relevant pages as needed. We can also mark the projects as either {{WikiProject status/Semi-active}} or {{WikiProject status/Inactive}}. Like I said, there is no deadline. sjones23 (talk – contributions) 03:03, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- I don’t disagree with this (in fact, I will go ahead and mark all but Studio Ghibli and Biography as inactive), but recruiting editors and continuing activities is always possible, even after being tagged as inactive. It is always possible that an inactive project could become active again. That being said, none of our current task forces have received an increase in activity since being tagged as inactive, so I doubt it will happen. Since you maintain that there is interest in the biography task force, I’ll tag it as semi-active for the time being and see what happens over time. If activity increases, I’ll happily remove the tag. Link20XX (talk) 03:29, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks. I’ll wait for the other uninvolved editors from the relevant WikiProjects I notified as well as the relevant work group pages for their responses. sjones23 (talk – contributions) 04:27, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
Inspired by the Studio Ghibli task force (which I am a part of), I would also like to propose some WikiProjects for various famous studios such as:
They can be converted to task forces where necessary. sjones23 (talk – contributions) 23:08, 25 October 2025 (UTC)
- These seem like good ideas. I was also thinking of maybe having task forces such as Wikipedia:WikiProject Boys’ Love, Wikipedia:WikiProject Shojo, or Wikipedia:WikiProject Shonen? Or maybe by publisher too? Just some suggestions. lullabying (talk) 08:57, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Sjones23 and Lullabying: I was thinking we could make task forces based on the target audience of the manga. These task forces would be Shōjo, Shōnen, Josei, and Seinen. They are large enough to warrant having their own task forces, as opposed to some of the anime and manga series that have their own task forces. Z. Patterson (talk) 10:56, 27 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Z. Patterson: Of course.
- I’m also thinking of adding task forces for publishers such as Kadokawa, Kodansha, Shueisha and so on. sjones23 (talk – contributions) 18:42, 27 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Sjones23: We can also do that. Z. Patterson (talk) 00:44, 28 October 2025 (UTC)

- I’m not trying to pour cold water on these plans, but I’m not sure this project has enough activity to warrant splitting into task forces. Most of our current task forces are completely inactive and I fear that creating more would divide our few active editors. Link20XX (talk) 01:36, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Sjones23, Lullabying, and Link20XX: Upon further thought, I have to agree with Link20XX. I previously believed that overhauling the task forces we had and splitting them into target audiences and publishers would have worked, but it appears that most users in WP:A&M work in the general area, and most task forces are inactive. If anything now, I would be in favour of minimising the task forces and keeping only the most active task forces (such as Biography and Conventions) or perhaps eliminating the task forces altogether. Z. Patterson (talk) 02:46, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Z. Patterson and Link20XX: Indeed, that was what one of my earlier concerns are per WP:A&M#Merging defunct WikiProjects and the ongoing WikiProject Council discussion. sjones23 (talk – contributions) 02:52, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- If anything now, I would be in favour of minimising the task forces and keeping only the most active task forces (such as Biography and Conventions) or perhaps eliminating the task forces altogether This is already the de facto reality except for the Studio Ghibli task force (see my comment above); I think we should just tag all of them except for that one as inactive and keep the project consolidated to the main page and Studio Ghibli page so as not to split our editors. Link20XX (talk) 04:47, 28 October 2025 (UTC)

As I’m working on the Emily Neves article so I can bring it up to Good Article status, I would like to consider a potential drive on bringing other famous English and Japanese voice actors like Kana Hanazawa, Kikuko Inoue, Megumi Hayashibara, Masako Nozawa, Akira Kamiya, Kenjiro Tsuda, Monica Rial, Veronica Taylor, Caitlin Glass, Tiffany Grant and so on to GA/FA status where necessary.
I’ve also posted neutral notifications on some of the relevant WikiProjects (i.e. WT:VG, WT:FILM, WT:FILMBIO, WT:TV) and will wait for any further opinions on this. sjones23 (talk – contributions) 04:50, 30 October 2025 (UTC)
- well there are a few that I wrote extensive bios on: Cassandra Lee Morris, Cristina Vee, Yuri Lowenthal, Kari Wahlgren and if you want non-anime ones, would love to see Dee Bradley Baker and Jennifer Hale‘s bio get some love. They’re at B-class so they’ve been reviewed by WP:ANIME before, but if there’s a way to get them to the next level, that’d be good. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 19:33, 30 October 2025 (UTC)
Just giving a shout, over at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video_games/Video game characters#RfC we’re discussing the naming structure of lists, particularly given some have different structures but also are classified as GA and FA. Wanting more input from other wikiprojects before we go forward with a RfC. Kung Fu Man (talk) 17:26, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the notification will have a look. GothicGolem29 (talk) 18:38, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
Should the licensor for those series picked up by Adult Swim (like Uzumaki) be changed to The Cartoon Network, Inc. instead of Warner Bros. Television for accuracy? There’s no verifiable information that the parent company is remotely involved in the series. Go D. Usopp (talk) 23:44, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- I have no objections. sjones23 (talk – contributions) 23:45, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Go D. Usopp: Warner Bros. Discovery Global Linear Networks is the parent company of The Cartoon Network, Inc. The Cartoon Network, Inc. appears to have more direct control over Adult Swim. For accuracy, I would say yes. Sources that mention Adult Swim are likely to mention Cartoon Network, as well. Z. Patterson (talk) 10:40, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
I’ve been thinking: since the last edit to Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga/Biography/Anime credits was back in 2021, perhaps it’s time to give that page a bit of a scrub-over? sjones23 (talk – contributions) 10:56, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
- We should probably scrub over many of the project’s pages. A lot of this project’s subpages and guidelines haven’t seen any major updates in more than a decade. Link20XX (talk) 13:13, 31 October 2025 (UTC)

How can I objectively check a page for copypasta? It was recently brought to my attention that part of the character description is identical to the character description on the Fandom Wiki, but I don’t know how to verify that it wasn’t copied from the wiki article in reverse.
