There’s U20 wording all the way through the article. Likely the tournament will also feature actual U18 sides with U18 Wikipedia articles to link to, but that’s OK. Even clearer to me with the younger players (Joeys fresh outta the pouch) playing in China at the same time. I think I would very likely oppose the creation of a new article for an U18 side. Just for short term the two squads could be listed at the U20 article under Current squad, with some prose mentioning this as a younger cohort. And a single table for Recent call-ups. This is a transition period, and will get fully resolved in October with the playing of the U20-World Cup, after which the bulk of the older cohort will no longer be considered “eligible for selection” for the 2027 edition. With Western United officially out of the upcoming season, but not officially dissolved (yet?), how do you guys think we should handle players currently? As far as I understand all contracts were cancelled, so that would mean treating each player as leaving the club, no? What should we do with {{Western United FC squad}} and {{Western United FC (women) squad}}? The template doesnt need to be deleted, just emptied, but it needs to be removed off all of the current players, with additional text in the lead with the effect of Player X “… most recently played for Western United FC in the 2024-25 A-league men” or “… most recently played for Western United FC (women) in the 2024-25 A-league Women” or similar. Adding to this, for pages such as A-League Men transfers for 2025–26 season, should we mention movement of players who were contracted to Western United prior to the club announcing the expiration of all contracts? Maybe, just for this season, there needs to be an additional table in A-League Men transfers for 2025–26 season for those departing Western United in these circumstances – for example Imai, and copy that one-off table into the WUN season article as well.
