* ”’Delete”’ – Coverage is limited to brief mentions in team sites, local sports wires. The one independent source provides only passing attention in a broader feature about Florida walk-ons and does not constitute significant, sustained coverage. No evidence of professional-level competition or enduring notability beyond routine college roster appearances. Fails WP:GNG and WP:NBASKETBALL. The article relies mainly on primary or routine sources (team sites, roster announcements, social media) and has no significant independent coverage. No evidence of lasting notability or professional-level play. Acrom12 (talk) 23:36, 19 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Ah okay, I hope I didn’t do anything wrong. I thought that with sources listed, they would work. Gdshordy (talk) 23:37, 19 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Gdshordy: You didn’t do anything wrong at all — adding sources is always appreciated. The issue here isn’t that the article has no sources, but that the ones provided are not independent or in-depth enough to meet Wikipedia’s notability standards for athletes. Seee WP:GNG and WP:NBASKETBALL.
Routine mentions like roster listings, player profiles, or team announcements confirm that the person exists, but they don’t establish significant coverage about the player. For an article to stay, we generally need multiple independent sources that discuss the subject in detail, such as feature stories, interviews, or major sports coverage.
So no worries, you didn’t violate any rule; this is just about the level of sourcing needed for stand-alone notability. Acrom12 (talk) 10:32, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • The Miami Herald article does not seem to be primary or routine, although I suppose there can be debate as to whether the coverage there is significant enough. And in any case, multiple significant sources are needed. If there are 2 more similar to this I would probably be inclined to !vote keep. Rlendog (talk) 17:30, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your note, @Rlendog. I agree the Miami Herald piece is independent and non-routine, but when evaluated under WP:GNG, its coverage of Pazmino is brief and shared with another walk-on. Most of the article discusses the Florida Gators’ team performance and season overview. Pazmino is quoted a few times about his experience as a walk-on, but there is no sustained biographical or analytical depth focused specifically on him.
A single feature like this, while helpful, doesn’t amount to the “significant coverage” required by WP:GNG, and there are no additional independent profiles or analyses of comparable depth. The remaining citations are roster notices, team sites, or social media posts.
So while the Miami Herald story is stronger than a routine roster mention, it’s still insufficient by itself to establish enduring notability. If two more independent, in-depth articles appeared, that could change the assessment; but with the current sourcing, the article still falls short of WP:GNG and WP:NBASKETBALL.
