NEW NOMINATIONS

Category:Family of Katie Price

Nominator’s rationale: The three people in this category apart from Price are ex-boyfriends and husbands, and a redirect of a presumably non-notable 18-year-old daughter. As it stands, this page is practically in the same ilk as the repeatedly created and salted Husbands of Elizabeth Taylor, perhaps the most famous example in popular culture. This is not a “Who dated who” or “Seven degrees of Bacon” website. Hopefully we would never have a category for the men who have nothing in common apart from all dating Taylor Swift, Madonna, Jennifer Aniston etc. Unknown Temptation (talk) 16:47, 1 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Necrophages

Nominator’s rationale: Aren’t all necrophages scavengers? Aren’t all scavengers necrophages? – UtherSRG (talk) 15:37, 1 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Airfields of the United States Army Air Forces in the Caribbean, Central, and South America

Nominator’s rationale: These three regions don’t need to be lumped together. All the places currently in the category are in the Caribbean. There are some South American articles directly in Category:Airfields of the United States Army Air Forces that could be added to this subcategory, but it would be better to leave them in the main category and create separate subcategories for their countries if needed. I think the Caribbean works better grouped as a region instead of dividing by country because most the countries there were not independent during WW2 (when these airfields were active). Category:Ice hockey in the Arab world

Nominator’s rationale: The Arab World is not a defining scope for ice hockey. All content is relative to either Africa or Asia, except Arab Cup of Ice Hockey, a tournament of small hockey nations played twice (2008 and 2023), although only the first edition included North African teams. Category:Proslavery activists killed in the American Civil War

Nominator’s rationale: delete, largely a duplicate of Category:Confederate States of America military personnel killed in the American Civil War. An exception is e.g. Rose O’Neal Greenhow but she was not killed anyway, she drowned. Marcocapelle (talk) 12:22, 1 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Sportspeople by populated place in Lower Saxony

Nominator’s rationale: Ernestine Sanchez (talk) 11:07, 1 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Sportspeople by populated place in Saxony-Anhalt

Nominator’s rationale: Ernestine Sanchez (talk) 09:54, 1 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Category:January 2022 in Tonga

Nominator’s rationale: There is only one article in the category. I’d suggest an upmerge, but the article is already in both Category:2022 in Tonga and Category:January 2022 in Oceania, so I don’t think there’s anywhere to merge it to. – numbermaniac 07:26, 1 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Category:November 2021 crimes in South America

Nominator’s rationale: There is only one page in the category. (A merge to the other parent categories shouldn’t be needed, since the article is already in Category:November 2021 in Ecuador and Category:2021 murders in Ecuador.) – numbermaniac 06:46, 1 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Category:The Sarah Jane Adventures lists

Nominator’s rationale: This category only has two lists in it, with one of these only tangentially related to the series. I see no reason for this category to be separately split off of the parent, where these lists can be covered with other articles pertaining to the show. Category:Women painters by nationality and century

Nominator’s rationale: underpopulated category. upmerge for now SMasonGarrison 04:02, 1 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Years in Southeast Asia

Nominator’s rationale: Nominating this and its first 8 subcats. Also, for each 8 subcats that are also nominated, their own respective subcats are also up for deletion. I just can’t tag all these 100-plus categories. Except for any category that has [Years of the X century in Country or territory] including former and current territories and countries. All these nine cats, plus their respective yearly cats are a massive form of WP:Overcat. This is the only category that exists for a general overview of years and establishments in a specific sub region of the world. This type of categorization is redundant and overkill. We don’t have Category:Years in Central Asia for one example. All years of respective century and establishments and disestablishments are best suited for the respective countries and former territories and countries cats that already exist. A sub region does not this kind of category.

All cats for [year establishments/disestablishments in country] should be recategorized back to the main [year establishments/disestablishments in Asia], plus all cats for countires by year in Southeast Asia should be back in [year in Asia] categories. For instance, Category:2026 in Malaysia should be in Category:2026 in Asia. WikiCleanerMan (talk) 00:10, 17 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: There is a significantly larger tree within Category:History of Southeast Asia by period. Is there a reason only years should be deleted? I think it should either be all of it or none of it. (I’m referring specifically to the centuries/decades/millennia/years categories for the region not the other miscellaneous categories or country categories.) Mclay1 (talk) 07:08, 17 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I did not notice that category. But yes, that parent cat and its first respective subcats like this years and their own yearly, plus establishments and disestablishments cats should be deleted as well. All country and territory cats should be left alone. WikiCleanerMan (talk) 17:02, 17 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support in principle but better merge them to the Asian parents, making sure we do not lose anything. Procedural comment: someone has to create a list of all categories that are affected, because otherwise the nomination cannot be implemented by the bot. After the list has been created, I can do the tagging. A good alternative for mass nominations seems to be User:Qwerfjkl/scripts/massXFD. Marcocapelle (talk) 08:20, 17 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Category:British entertainers by county and populated place

Nominator’s rationale: redundant category layer SMasonGarrison 01:56, 1 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
