Indefinite extended-confirmed protection: Request Extended Confirmed Protection (ECP) for Thampan caste page, by Contentious topics: Arbitration enforcement (WP:CT/SASG, WP:CT/CASTE). Taliparamba (talk) 08:16, 23 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Declined I know it’s normally a slam-dunk here, but … since the last edit was to nominate it for deletion, let’s hold off until that’s resolved unless the edits become too disruptive. Daniel Case (talk) 21:29, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – massive dump into CAT:DUPARGS. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 01:01, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite semi-protection. Sushidude21! (talk) 02:56, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Sushidude21! You didn’t give a reason for requesting protection. We don’t go straight to indefinite protection for a page that’s never been protected before. Toadspike [Talk] 11:03, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – I created this draft in order to remedy two hijackings at Tariq Amin. The hijackings involved some socking (investigation page). Since drafting, and despite noted deficiencies, it was submitted twice to WP:AFC (I declined both times as unimproved). AFC submission without improvement in this case by a noob and an ip are disruptive and look like a continuation of the trash quality edits promoting this subject. I don’t foresee an end, but let’s start with temporary protection. Unless it’s clearly a permanent issue to someone. JFHJr () 03:24, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: High level of IP vandalism. Sush150 (talk) 11:25, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: High level of IP vandalism. Sush150 (talk) 11:26, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: An unregistered editor is edit-warring with multiple editors against a clear consensus in the article’s Talk page (to which the unregistered editor has not contributed even a single comment). ElKevbo (talk) 12:40, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite extended-confirmed protection: Highly visible page. Iran was involved in the Arab-Israeli conflict, and articles about topics involved in this conflict are extended confirmed protected due to the controversity of the conflict. 🐟 Harringstars 🐟 18:22, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Toadspike [Talk] 21:10, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
But pages about topics involvdd in the arab israeli conflict are extended confirmed protected. 🐟 Harring F. Stars 🐟 21:41, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Only those that are primary topics within that conflict. (Iran actually has its own contentious-topic designation, but it’s more limited and doesn’t have the ECR provision (yet)). Very little of the top-level article about a country that is in ongoing conflict with Israel is devoted to that conflict. Articles about specific conflicts with Israel like last spring’s airstrikes are ECP’ed indef under PIA. Perhaps an article about Iran’s more recent military history might come under PIA as well. Reason: IP users consistently trying to replace referenced paragraphs with massive unsourced lists (every song on the in-game radio station) from fan wikis. Rhain (he/him) 22:35, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Recent disruptions, but this page also has a long running problem of attracting vandalism. It’s a subject that some people struggle to be mature about and it’s been temporarily semi-protected a few times in the past. I am recommending indefinite semi-protection 3df (talk) 00:19, 25 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Persistent edit warring from an IP and unintentional sock (probably just not familiar with loutsocking rules). grapesurgeon (seefooddiet) (talk) 01:07, 25 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
