For more than a year, Naroditsky was one of several players accused by former world champion Vladimir Kramnik of cheating in online chess, without substantial evidence, a claim that Naroditsky rejected. Naroditsky was found dead in his home on October 19, with police not suspecting foul play. In the aftermath, the International Chess Federation announced it will investigate Kramnik’s campaign.
