Course Description: Interdisciplinary course, applying concepts from chemistry, physics, biology and geology to Earth systems including terrestrial, ocean and freshwater environments; water and energy cycles; carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus and sulfur cycles; biogeochemical cycles through Earth history.

Proposed project description from syllabus: ” Wikipedia Project (30%): During the term, students will work in groups of 4 to 5 to expand a Wikipedia stub or create a new topic that has some direct connection to biogeochemistry. The topic may be something from the course or a subject not explicitly covered in the course. You must enroll in the Wiki course page using the link posted on Canvas. All information and other materials are on the course page, including some examples. During finals week, students will present their page to the class.”
