This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to China. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace “PageName” with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|China|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to China. For the other XfD’s, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia’s deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.
This list is also part of the larger list of deletion debates related to Asia.

No indication of notability per Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). The only independent, secondary coverage I could find of them is the cited Register review of one of their products. The rest of the coverage of them online is press releases. Fails WP:GNG. I believe the original Chinese for this station is 棉花坪站. As far as I can tell, this railway station was proposed but never existed. According to https://news.ifeng.com/c/7fbs8RZcIdQ, this was one of the proposed stations for the Guizhou part of the Changsha–Kunming high-speed railway. However, it seems to have been cancelled during a feasibility study of some sort. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 07:15, 17 November 2025 (UTC)

- Comment zh:石柱县站 contains a bit more information, and putting the Chinese name into Google produces a lot more results, some of which seem quite extensive. I can’t read Chinese so I can’t evaluate how relevant or reliable they are (a google translate of the one I randomly checked didn’t demonstrate notability of this station but did contain information that might be worth including in an article if it is), but clearly determining the notability based on searches only in English is inappropriate. Thryduulf (talk) 15:34, 14 November 2025 (UTC)
- I didn’t nominate this article solely on English search results. I used the Chinese name given in the Chinese Wikipedia article and looked for sources in Chinese. The best that I could find was this self-published blog post and a one-line passing mention in this book which simply mentioned: “石柱县站的《临溪农民走向市场》” [The Shizhu County station ‘s “Linxi Farmers Head Towards the Market”]. This article was created by a WP:COI editor. The whole article is WP:NPOV. Beyond self published sources, I also could not find much information proving that this article passes WP:GNG. – LuniZunie ツ(talk) 22:49, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @LuniZunie, thank you for taking the time to review the article. I am one of the editors who contributed to the page on Dr. Qing Wang. Dr. Wang has been a long-standing collaborator of us in cancer genomics and clinical proteomics research, and his work has been covered by a number of independent, reliable sources, including reports from Johns Hopkins Medicine, Wharton/University of Pennsylvania, GenomeWeb, and major venture capital news outlets. These references were included specifically to demonstrate notability according to Wikipedia’s verifiability and reliable-source standards.
- If there are specific concerns regarding the current sourcing, tone, or notability criteria that you believe are not met, I would very much appreciate the opportunity to discuss and improve the article accordingly. My goal is to ensure the page meets Wikipedia’s policies on neutrality, verifiability, and biographical notability.
- Thank you again for your review, and I welcome any guidance on how the article can be strengthened to address your concerns. Ryanvwang (talk) 23:05, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- Delete One of the greasiest cases of WP:PROMO I have ever seen. I instinctively kept clutching my wallet through the whole article. Every source is either a paper by the (admittedly accomplished) subject, or from one of the universities he’s been associated with (not independent), or a WP:ROUTINE announcement. If the last user believes there are “major venture capital news outlets” with significant coverage (Crunchbase is no such thing), then present them and we can reconsider. - (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)
It’s unclear to me whether this subject meets our general notability guidelines, as I’ve been unable to find evidence of significant coverage in reliable sources. A cursory Google Scholar search only brings up one source, which says that “After their arrest in October 1976, the “Gang of Four” and the Shanghai School were accused of having planned to canonize “Zhang Chunqiao Thought.”
The sources cited in this article (which solely use English title translations, making verification difficult) are all from the 1977-1978 period, which implies these came from the wave of accusations against them as mentioned in the above source.
It seems to me that “Zhang Chunqiao Thought” was never a real thing, and was more of a label attached to the Gang of Four during the process against them. As such, I’m nominating this article for deletion. Grnrchst (talk) 17:23, 9 November 2025 (UTC)

The launcher weighs 1.2 kg, whereas a fully-loaded backpack is around 7.2 kg; considering the QN-202’s advertised capabilities, a combined weight of under 10 kg qualifies as relatively portable. … Other have noted the QN-202’s resemblance to Raytheon Pike missiles, which have the same range of 2,00 km but are mounted on a slightly smaller M320 Grenade Launcher. On the other hand, the QN-202 is much lighter and markedly more compact than the ENFORCER shoulder-launched missile system being developed by European manufacturer MBDA for a late 2019 release.”

(hereinafter referred to as “Guide Infrared”), consists of a rifle-style launcher and a backpack capable of storing six miniature missiles. The launcher weighs 1.2 kg, and the backpack, fully loaded with missiles, weighs approximately 7.2 kg, for a total weight of less than 10 kg. In comparison, the domestically produced Type 98 heavy anti-tank rocket launcher’s launch tube alone weighs nearly 10 kg, and its four armor-piercing rockets weigh over 25 kg, making it quite difficult for a two-person combat team to carry. Therefore, the portability of the QN-202 is truly impressive.”

- Nice to see you making assumptions about how people spend their time. I often look at multiple topics simultaneously, and refrain from commenting until I am ready. Just because I made edits elsewhere on another thread previous to this one doesn’t mean that I didn’t spend time before commenting here. Sometimes I take several days to look for sources before commenting in a discussion.4meter4 (talk) 03:40, 7 November 2025 (UTC)

This seems like a WP:DICTDEF. No zh wiki interwiki. The term is used, sure, but it seems to be pretty much just a Chinese term for martial arts training hall. The best known term for this is Japanese dojo. Not sure if, considering ATD, this should be merged/redirected to Chinese martial arts or to dojo…? The latter is associated with Japanese culture, but we don’t have a culture-neutral training hall article (wikidata: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q135904564 – no wikipedia yet has an article on this…). I can’t find any sources with significant coverage of this school. All the sources on the Chinese article, zh:香港四邑商工总会陈黎绣珍纪念学校, seem to be primary/not independent, while the Cantonese article is unreferenced as well. Toadspike [Talk] 12:40, 3 November 2025 (UTC)

- I was unable to confirm any significant coverage from the Chinese language newspapers. Some of the Wah Kiu Yat Po cites are from the 1950’s and 1960’s and only support information about the founder; the ones from 1978 and 1981 bearing titles I wasn’t able to find on “page 2 of sheet 6” (which I read as (1) go to archive.org, (2) navigate to page 6 of the archive file, and (3) refer to the right-hand page of the newspaper.
- some are from related schools, like this[3] which I think can’t be counted as independent (or very substantial)
- a number of HK Government documents I think we have to classify as WP:PRIMARY as they reflect the actions taken by the government; also some aren’t very substantial like this[4] which is just a plat map showing the school’s location
- articles about redevelopment name-check the school without giving substance
- I did my own searches for this AfD yesterday but didn’t weigh in as I didn’t think my searches were complete. If this is the best we can do I think this is a delete. But I’d like to know what @HenryLi thinks are the SIRS sources that talk at length about the school. Oblivy (talk) 01:10, 5 November 2025 (UTC)
- Keep per the significant coverage in multiple independent reliable sources. The subject passes Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies)#Schools, which says:
All universities, colleges and schools, including high schools, middle schools, primary (elementary) schools, and schools that only provide a support to mainstream education must either satisfy the notability guidelines for organizations, the general notability guideline, or both. For-profit educational organizations and institutions are considered commercial organizations and must satisfy those criteria. (See also WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES)

It was the first site selected for the Home Ownership Scheme (HOS) after the programme was revived in 2011, and its conversion into two blocks comprising 460 flats is scheduled to be completed in 2016. However, Kwai Tsing district councillor Alan Lee Chi-keung complains that it took government departments four years to generate ideas on how to use the site. “The Federation of Trade Unions wanted to use it as a centre for evening classes. I suggested turning it into community hall or elderly centre or an international school for South Asians. But it was not until 2011 that the government announced that HOS flats would be built there,” Lee says. “Schools such as Chan Lai So Chun are situated in accessible areas, they are already equipped with good infrastructure. The government should conduct projections for the demand for school places in the area. If there isn’t a shortage of school places, those sites should be released for housing.””

Mergewith Public_housing_estates_on_Tsing_Yi_Island#Cheung_Ching_Estate and redirect as an ATD.Despite the good work of @Cunard in identifying sources this is at best one SIRS source. Specifically, the 1978-03-11 Wah Kiu Yat Po source (which must be the same one @HenryLi identified but I couldn’t find on archive.org). The rest are trivial mentions, and don’t support the school being notable. In particular the school closure and redevelopment articles really aren’t about the school but about the education bureau’s decision and the land itself. If someone wanted to make an WP:IAR argument about this school’s place in history I’d be open to it but really there’s not enough here to make a meal out of. - Comment: The article cites this book source:
- 全港小學入學必讀手冊 [Hong Kong Primary School Admission Handbook]. Lotus Publishing 荷花出版有限公司. August 1996. pp. 99–100.The book is indexed here on Google Books. This is the publisher Lotus Group’s website. The page notes from Google Translate: “Lotus Group, established for over 40 years, encompasses publishing, advertising, retail, and exhibitions, primarily targeting parents. Its publishing business produces a comprehensive series of magazines, books, and educational guides on pregnancy, parenting, and education, designed for pregnant women and parents of infants aged 0-12.”I consider this to be an independent reliable source from a reputable publisher. The source spans pages 99–100 of the book and is used to cite these two sentences in the article, “The school operated as both a morning and an afternoon school. In the mid-1990s, the two sessions were merged following the education policy shift towards whole-day schooling.” This is an offline source that I do not have access to, but as a primary school admission school handbook, it likely provides significant coverage about the school including the history of how it became a whole-day school in the mid-1990s.
Combined with the 1978 and 1981 articles in Wah Kiu Yat Po and the other sources, there is enough coverage to meet Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies)#Schools and Wikipedia:Notability#General notability guideline. Addressing Wikipedia:Notability#Whether to create standalone pages, a merge to Public housing estates on Tsing Yi Island#Cheung Ching Estate would result in the loss of the sourced encyclopedic content HenryLi added to avoid undue weight, so I prefer a standalone article. Cunard (talk) 06:36, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
- In my opinion school admissions guides are not particularly valuable for establishing notability. Every school gets an entry, famous or not, and the information tends to be rote and largely obtained from the schools themselves. The core of this comment is basically WP:IAR which I think is underused at AfD. I don’t think we get to GNG via sources, but I don’t have any real objection to the article being kept so I’ll get out of the way and change my vote to a comment. Oblivy (talk) 13:02, 16 November 2025 (UTC)
- Keep there are two sources that by themselves provide WP:SIGCOV to the topic as described by Cunard, and the remainder of the coverage helps contribute to notability. Passes the WP:GNG and I agree that a merge would increase the article’s size much too significantly or otherwise remove reliably sourced and encyclopedic information on a notable subject.
