The 1934 Illinois Senate election was held on 6 November 1934, to determine which party would control the Illinois Senate for the following two years in the 59th Illinois General Assembly. Twentyseven out of the 51 seats in the Illinois Senate were up for election. Prior to the election, 33 seats were held by Democrats and 18 seats were held by Republicans. The general election saw Democrats expanding their majority in the State Senate by 2 seats.[1]
