3rd season of Nepal Premier League T20
Cricket tournament
The 2026 Nepal Premier League, officially known as the Siddhartha Bank Nepal Premier League 2026 for sponsorship reasons, will be the third season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), a professional men’s Twenty20 cricket league in Nepal.
Organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), the tournament is expected to feature the same eight franchise teams established in the inaugural 2024 season.[1] Following the pattern of previous seasons, it is tentatively scheduled for **November–December 2026**.[2]
The defending champions are the Lumbini Lions, who won their maiden title in 2025 by defeating the Sudurpaschim Royals in the final.[3]
Teams and Franchises
The 2026 season will feature eight franchise teams representing various provinces and cities of Nepal.
Venue
The tournament is anticipated to be held primarily at the **Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground** (TU Cricket Ground) in Kirtipur, Kathmandu. Following the 2025 season, where all matches were held at this stadium, and considering ongoing renovations for night matches, it is expected to remain the central venue.[4]
Player Acquisition
Teams retain a core group of players and acquire the rest through a formal **player auction** under a salary cap.[5] The Cricket Association of Nepal will announce retention and auction policies ahead of the 2026 season.
