All terrorists involved in attack on Cadet College in Wana killed, security sources say

Security sources said early on Wednesday that all the khawarij involved in the attack on Cadet College in Wana had been killed.

Sources said that one suicide bomber and four other khawarij were killed in a successful operation.

Fitna al-Khawarij is a term the state uses for terrorists belonging to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Security sources said that the college building was currently being cleared due to the threat of landmines. They asserted that no student or teacher at the college was harmed during the successful operation.

On Sunday evening, security forces had foiled a major terrorist attack on the Cadet College after militants rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the institution’s main gate, the military’s media wing said in a statement.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), three terrorists were killed in the retaliatory operation, while nine civilians sustained injuries. The roofs of nearby houses collapsed due to the intensity of the blast.

The ISPR had said the attack was carried out by terrorists affiliated with the Indian proxy network Fitna al Khawarij calling it a heinous and cowardly act of terrorism.
