Apex Digital Skills is a non-profit initiative based in Uganda. It provides free and subsidized practical digital and entrepreneurial training to young people. [1][2]
History and Mission
Apex Digital Skills was launched in 2025 with the core mission of empowering young Ugandans through innovative digital education and job creation skills. Founder Nyanzi Martin Luther emphasized that digital literacy has become a “basic need” in the modern world. The initiative addresses a significant digital skills gap in Uganda, where many young people lack the basic competencies for using digital tools and critically evaluating online information, despite high operational digital literacy[3][4][1][5][6]
Programs and curriculum
Apex Digital Skills (ADS) offers various free and subsidized training programs aimed at equipping young Ugandans with practical, market-ready competencies in digital media, technology, and entrepreneurship. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on experience and prepares participants for the demands of the modern workforce or for self-employment opportunities.
The initiative provides training in key areas, including:
- Video editing
- Radio production
- Graphic design
- Coding and website creation
- Digital marketing and social media management
- Basic artificial intelligence (AI)
Operational Reach and Partnerships
Training is primarily conducted at the organization’s hub in Kampala. To expand its reach, ADS has held community workshops in several districts across central and western Uganda, including Wakiso, Mukono, Luweero, Mbarara, and Gulu.
ADS has also formed a partnership with MK International School to integrate technology-focused education, such as coding and graphic design, into the primary and secondary school curriculum[7][8][9]
