Chaser (stylized as CHASER) is an American skate punk band from Orange County, California. Since the band’s formation in 2000 they have been regular stalwarts of the Southern California punk rock scene, released six full length studio albums, toured internationally, and have played in numerous large punk festivals.

2000-2006: Formative Years
Singer Mike LaDonne explained that several of the founding band members attended the same high school and started practicing together, developing their skill, and playing local shows[1]. In their first few years, Chaser recorded and self-released a demo album with 14 songs. Working with the independent label Felony Records, they recorded their first studio album, In Control in 2003. From 2002-2004 the band landed side stage performances on the Vans Warped Tour[2]. In 2005 they shared a split 7″ with False Alliance and were opening for bands like D.I. (band), Guttermouth, and Authority Zero[3].

In 2006, Mike LeDonne (vocals), Nate Warner (guitar), AJ Latteri (bass), and Josh Millican (drums) welcomed the addition of Cameron Denning (guitar) and they recorded Numb America, with the independent label Felony Records. Before the audio was finalized, they made a limited number of copies and distributed them while touring Europe for several weeks with Good Riddance (band). Upon their return from Europe, they finalized the album audio recording for release in the US.[4].

2006: Change-up
Shortly after returning home from the European tour, Jesse Stopnitzky replaced Latteri on bass[5].

2007-2012:
In 2008 Chaser performed for the Vans Warped Tour.[6]
In 2010 Chaser released The Big Picture. This album was seen as a slight departure from the band’s pure punk roots into a slightly more alternative rock sound[7][8].
Cameron Denning (guitar) left band shortly after this release.

2012-2017: Hiatus
Members of the band wanted to prioritize their families and livelihoods, so they went their separate ways[9]. In an interview, Jesse Stopnitzky said that at the time of this dissolution the band thought it would be permanent, that there was no plan to get back together.

2017-present: Renaissance
In 2017 LeDonne and Stopnitzky recruited Davey Guy to play drums and Bill Hockmuth for guitar. In 2018 they released Sound The Sirens which was seen as a return to the band’s original identity playing high energy, melodic, skate punk. Dreamers was released in 2021 and then in 2024, Small Victories.
