Road sign depot in Greiveldange.

Road signs in Luxembourg are regulated by Luxembourg’s Road Traffic Regulations (French: Code de la Route) which consists of the amended Grand-Ducal Regulation of 26 August 1993.

After World War II, Luxembourg began standardizing its signage, increasingly aligning with international and European agreements, especially the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Signs and Signals. This led to the modern system used today:

  • triangular warning signs,
  • circular regulatory signs and rectangular informational signs.

Luxembourg’s signs are often written in their 3 official languages: Luxembourgish, French and German. Luxembourg’s road signs use the Helvetica, Caractères, DIN 1451 and SNV typefaces, often inconsistently.
