Sensofar is a Spanish technology company headquartered in Terrassa, Barcelona, founded in 2001 as a spin-off from the Center for Sensors, Instruments and Systems Development (CD6) at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC).[1]

The company develops non-contact optical 3D surface metrology systems based on confocal microscopy, interferometry, and focus variation.[2][3] Its instruments are used in research laboratories, industrial quality inspection, and advanced manufacturing environments.[4]

A separate division, Sensofar Medical, designs optical inspection systems for implantable medical devices and components, as well as equipment used in biomedical research.[5]

Sensofar’s systems are also employed in research institutions, including national laboratories such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).[6]
