The Apollo University (TAU) is a private university located in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, India. It was established in 2021 under the Andhra Pradesh Private Universities (Establishment and Regulation) Act, 2016, by Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, founder of the Apollo Hospitals Group. Sponsored by Apollo Hospitals Educational and Research Institutions, the university integrates healthcare expertise with multidisciplinary higher education in technology, health sciences, management and pharmaceutical sciences.
The university has gained national media attention for its initiatives in digital health, cloud computing, data science and global academic collaborations, including a strategic partnership with the University of Leicester.
The Apollo University was founded in 2021 as part of the Apollo Group’s expansion into education. It received formal government approval through G.O. Ms. No. 64 (2023) issued by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and its establishment was published in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette.
