The suspects book a room at an AirBNB in southwest Sydney suburb of Campsie.[1]

17:00 Start of Chanuka by the Sea 2025.[3] More than a thousand attend.[4]
~17:09 —CCTV of the father and son leave an AirBNB on 103 Brighton Ave.[5] Campsie in their 2001 silver Hyundai Elantra[1] for the 45-minute drive from Bondi Beach. Wrapped in blankets are two single barrel shotguns, a Beretta rifle, four IEDs and two ISIS flags.[2]
17:58 —Car stops on Ocean Street in Woollahra[6] for 19 minutes.[2]

19:39[7] — Properties at the Sydney suburbs of Campsie and Bonnyrigg are searched by police overnight; a man and a woman are taken into custody at the latter.[11] The two gunmen had lived at Bonnyrig,[17] and had stayed in an AirBNB rental[18] in Campsie[19] for two days before the attack.

06:15 — The number is deaths is now given as 16 (including the elder terrorist); 42 people are still in hospital.[7]
07:56 — It is revealed that two Islamic State flags were found in the gunmens’ car.[2]
17:36 — The terrorists are identified; they are believed by counter-terrorist officials to have had proclaimed allegiance to the Islamic State.[7]
