Ruler of Amurru
Duppi-Teššup (c. 1310 BCE) was the ruler of Amurru on the Akkar Plain, during the reign of Mursili II of Hatti.
Duppi-Tessup was the son of DU-Tessup, grandson of Aziru and great-grandson of Abdi-Ashirta.
The Accession of Duppi-Tessup occured during the reign of Mursili II of Hatti. The Treaty of Muršili II with Duppi-Teššup of Amurru (CTH 62) provides the background for his rise to power. Already the provinces of Nuhasse and Kinza had conducted the second rebellion, with support from Horemheb of Egypt.
In Hittite sources, Duppi-Tessup is known from the reign of Mursili II.[1]
