The Illyrian invasion of epirus (307 BC) was an invasion lead by Glaucias of Taulantii that took place in 307 or 306 BC to make Pyrrhus of Epirus king of Epirus.

Aeacides of Epirus,Pyrrhus father was overthrow in a rebellion by the Epirotes in 317 or 316 BC. Young Pyrrhus who was only two years old at the time was sent to Glaucias of Taulantii by some faithful servants .[1]The Illyrian king was offered 200 talents by Cassander to give up the child but Glaucias of Taulantii refused.[2]

After the death of Alcetas II of Epirus Glaucias saw an opportunity to invade Epirus with an army and establish the 12 year old Pyrrhus as king of epirus.The invasion was successful and Pyrrhus of Epirus was crowned as King of epirus.[3][2]

After Pyrrhus of Epirus gained the throne he was way too young to rule so his guardians ruled for him until he came of age.[4] In 302 BC he went to Illyria to go to a wedding of one of Glaucias of Taulantii son’s but while he was in Illyria the Epirotes rebelled and drove away his supporters this time tho Glaucias of Taulantii couldn’t help him ,the new king became Neoptolemus II of Epirus.[5]
