The following is the chronological list of official Leaders of the Opposition in the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
The position has frequently remained vacant in the state’s political history due to the formation of “opposition-less” governments or when no single opposition party secured at least 10% of the total seats (6 out of 60) in the House.
- To be recognized as the official Leader of the Opposition, a party must hold at least **10% of the total strength** of the Assembly (6 seats).
- In the 11th Assembly (2024–present), Kumar Waii is the sole representative of the Indian National Congress, meaning the party does not qualify for the official post.
- As of January 2026, the Assembly is effectively opposition-less, with 59 of 60 members supporting the Pema Khandu led government.
