Martin James (born 14 February 2008) is a French professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain FC, for whom he played for in the youth academy.
James was born on 14 February 2008. Born in Versailles, France, he is a native of the city.[1] He comes from a family of footballers.[2]
As a youth player, James joined the youth academy of AO Buc Football. During the summer of 2016, he joined the youth academy of FC Versailles 78. Following his stint there, he joined the youth academy of AS Meudon in 2020.[3]
Ahead of the 2022–23 season, James joined the youth academy of Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain FC, at the age of 13.[2][4] In 2025, he was promoted to the senior squad.[5][6] James featured on the bench in a UEFA Champions League match against Tottenham Hotspur due to an injury to the back-up goalkeeper Renato Marin.[1][7] A few hours prior, James played the full game against Tottenham in the UEFA Youth League.[8] On 13 December 2025, he was a part of the squad that beat FC Metz 3–2.[9]
James plays as a goalkeeper. He has been described as being tall and imposing in goal and having good footwork.[1]
