RomanceCon 2025 was set to follow a successful 2025 event, however, due to links to Harry Potter content that many attendees felt created an unsafe environment for members of the LGBTQ+ community, and the subsequent mismanagement of those concerns, over 200 authors dropped out of the lineup. Despite this, RomanceCon continued to advertise 200+ authors in attendance, and sent no communication to attendees, as well as reaching out to previously rejected authors to donate tables if they would attend. Due to the continued lack of communication to vendors, attendees, and authors alike, local businesses stepped in to create their own event.

Events

BroadwayCon

BroadwayCon is a fan convention for the theater community, co-created by Mischief Management and Anthony Rapp,[1] which originally took place in January in New York City. Con of Thrones

Con of Thrones is a convention for fans of Game of Thrones, A Song of Ice and Fire, and other works of fantasy author George R. R. Martin. The convention began in 2017 and is holding its third iteration in 2019.

GeekyCon targets the online fandoms of Doctor Who, Supernatural, Glee, Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Disney.[2] In 2016, it was announced that GeekyCon was on hiatus.[3]

LeakyCon

Obsessed Fest

Obsessed Fest is an annual True Crime festival put on by Obsessed Network and its owners: Patrick Hinds and his husband, Steve Tipton.

2025
