Shamim Hossen (bengali: শামীম হোসেন) is a Bangladeshi multi-talented figure known as a lyricist, screenwriter, actor, theater director and senior sports journalist. he is known in Bangladesh for his protest songs addressing social, political and human rights issues. his song for the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) titled Jitbe Dhaner Shish for the 2026 national elections has received a huge popularity. he is working for the daily jugantor, a first-class daily newspaper of Bangladesh.[1][2][3][4][5]
Early life and Career

Hossen was born on August 10, 1992 in Jessore District of Khulna Division. he completed Honors in 2015 and Masters in 2016 from Jagannath University. he has written more than 50 songs. his first song Dukher Feriwala was sung by popular Bangladeshi actor Fazlur Rahman Babu.[6][7] he has written, acted and directed over 100 plays and short films. His first play Jodi Thake Nosibe was released in 2019.[8][9][10] he started his journalism career in 2014 with amadershomoy.com edited by Nayeemul Islam Khan. He then worked for several popular online news portals in Bangladesh. Since 2016, he is working as a sports journalist for the daily Jugantor.

In addition to romantic and sad songs Shamim’s music is noted for its emotional depth and lyrics that critique various aspects of society.[11]
Shamim is actively involved in social movements. he participated in the protests against the Gaza war, supported the Palestinians through his songs. he works in public support by writing songs for contemporary movements taking place in Bangladesh.
