:”’Oppose”’ I disagree with this line of thinking. Conference Championship Games generally the most watched games on TV in a given year, sans the Super Bowl. If the [[2018 Sun Bowl|Sun Bowl]] can have its own page, well… [[User:Iafca|Iafca]] ([[User talk:Iafca|talk]]) 17:19, 17 January 2026 (UTC)

only Super Bowls are inherently notable; conference championships aren’t, and I see no reason to believe this game is independently notable. As such, I think merging it is a better solution. ~2026-31669-3 (talk) 15:16, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
- While it is true that Super Bowls “supersede” conference championships as the “final” for the entire league, I argue that notability is established through the historical nature of the two conferences, as both formerly operated as independently of each other. From that perspective, I see the NFC Championship Game and the AFC Championship Game to be the modern successors to the NFL and AFL Championship Games, respectively, and we have individual articles for each AFL and NFL title game. To take an example of a sport that has a similar nature to this is MLB with the NL and AL. For years, the AL and NL operated independently, and even though they are united together under MLB, the historical nature of both leagues is recognized, as every single NLCS and ALCS to ever be played has its own article. - Oppose – there is not reason given that conference championships in general, or this one in particular, is not notable. Rlendog (talk) 21:44, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
