Notability
I see that this article has been nominated for deletion twice before, although both of those nominations seem to have been made in bad faith, and were rejected for that reason. Nevertheless, reading through the article, I’m not sure I see the requirements of WP:PROF being met, but I don’t have enough subject matter expertise to say for sure. I’d invite someone more familiar with the field to enlighten me, if possible. Riposte97 (talk) 07:17, 4 December 2025 (UTC)

Symposium on Discrete Algorithms has its own article and should be linked from this one, where it is mentioned in the second paragraph of “Research interests”. More substantially, I was also program chair for the Scandinavian Symposium and Workshops on Algorithm Theory in 2018 (see e.g. DBLP for a source). —David Eppstein (talk) 19:02, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Partly done: I added the link, but I think listing the position as program chair would be a little excessive. The article already contains a lot of statements supported by WP:PRIMARY sources; if this position was noteworthy, there should be reporting on it in secondary sources. DBLP is a secondary source. That’s why I listed it in the request. It seems very strange to list all but one of the program chair positions for notable conferences, and snub one, for reasons that apply to all of them. —David Eppstein (talk) 18:04, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Suggesting an addition to list of publications:

User:Sebbog13 just changed the short description of this article to remove “computer” from “computer scientist”. This is not an improvement; my primary professional affiliation is as a computer scientist. However, I don’t think it rises to the level of vandalism where I can revert it myself. Someone else please do so. (Sebbog13 also removed the birth year from the short description but I don’t care about that.) —David Eppstein (talk) 02:02, 25 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
