Some speculated that the name “Huế” originated from the local pronunciation of “Thuận Hóa”, the original official name of the city, while others dispute that speculation. Note that the Hue accent is among the hardest to understand among all Vietnamese dialects, especially for people from the other regions. I once was at Incheon International Airport waiting for a connecting flight to SGN, where I overheard people conversing in some Asian language. Prior to 1975, the province was known as “Thừa Thiên”. I predict that within 20 years the city will become a centrally-controlled city and the province will revert back to its old name. DHN 18:56, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The French article seems to say that in addition to the Perfume River, the province has three others: the Bồ, Ong Lau, and Truoi. Is this accurate? None of these three seems to have an article of its own. Badagnani 22:09, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Villegas article mentions these rivers and has a map showing them flowing into the estuary or lagoon of the Perfume River. It is a master’s degree thesis, but I think a good source – at least for this sort of non-controversial statement. I added the url so anyone can check it out now. This, both times, should have gone through a WP:RM. I’ve already reverted this undiscussed move counter the 14 geo articles RM at Talk:Cà Mau and before that 07 Aug 2011 once, so I’ll leave it to another editor to revert this time. The edit summaries are misleading “Discussed at WP:VIET” – sorry no it wasn’t, see project talk history. “per WP:VIETCON” – sorry no it isn’t, there’s a large “under discussion” tag there trying to get the majority 23 !votes of the recent RfC reflected in the draft.
