Was she born in Didsbury or Moss Side? Early years says Didsbury. But short says Moss Side. Two different areas.

According to a BBC article I used as a reference in the early life section, she was born in Moss Side. I have edited the section to reflect this information.

This page should not be speedily deleted because… (I was unaware that a similar page had been deleted off wikipedia, however Lucy Powell, the lady who this article is about, is widely expected to win the by-election in which she is standing and will most likely become the next Labour MP for the Manchester Central constituency. Therefore I think an article about her should be added to wikipedia, also all of my work has been properly sourced and referenced in line with wikipedia policy and so I believe that this article should stay. Thank you) —FunTimesIndeed (talk) 13:41, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have just read the previous comments from when an article bearing this name was added to wikipedia in 2009, however as my references show she has achieved alot since 2009 becoming Ed Milliband’s Campaign Manager on his successful run as Labour Party Leader and is his Deputy Chief of Staff, aswell as now being the candidate to a Safe Labour seat where she is the favourite to win! So I think this makes her relatively notable with regard to wikipedia policy on Politicians. FunTimesIndeed (talk) 13:52, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Is Lucy considered to be an ally or opponent of Lord Mandelson’s campaign to replace Ed Miliband with Chookka Ummuna? George Osbourne and Lord Mandelson once had an interesting meeting on a boat that caused embarrassment all round. Does Lucy agree? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nusgnitteseht (talkcontribs) 04:10, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I’ve no idea, but political analysis from someone who can’t spell Chuka Umunna correctly isn’t likely to be taken very seriously. Robofish (talk) 18:07, 17 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It seems a bit OTT. Jontel (talk) 06:37, 17 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I’ve edited the Early Life and Education section to tidy up a fairly small detail. The source that the subject ‘transferred’ from Oxford to Kings is, ultimately, the subject herself. Unless a ‘transfer’ (rather than, say, dropping out from Oxford and starting a new programme at Kings) can be verified by a valid source, the most we can say here is that she attended Oxford for one year then later studied at and graduated from Kings, London.Emmentalist (talk) 11:57, 22 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Place of birth contradiction
