::That’s the edit I made too – no sexual assault was claimed, and washing someone’s wounds is something that a nurse – or, one could assume, a captor – would do. “It was unpleasant” seems a small piece of evidence to add to a list of real gender-based “violence” [[User:Sellotapemaskingtape|Sellotapemaskingtape]] ([[User talk:Sellotapemaskingtape|talk]]) 08:35, 8 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Easternsahara,

Here is a better source (Haaretz) that says that Ohel reported he was sexually assaulted: [1]. The text you removed did not say that Ohel was sexually assaulted in wikivoice– only that he reported that he was. But yes touching someone’s body against their stated wishes is sexual violence/ assault. Rainsage (talk) 04:40, 8 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah Haartez is better, but that seems like a violation of WP:HEADLINE. Haartez didn’t say it was sexual assualt in the body of the article and so we can not put it in the article. If you think I am wrong then you are encouraged to go to the dispute resolution noticeboard or try to create an RfC. Thanks, User:Easternsaharareview this 04:45, 8 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, Haaretz says it in the body (bolding added for emphasis):

Alon Ohel, who was released last October after two years in Hamas captivity, said that he was starved by his captors, that his wounds were treated negligently and that he was sexually assaulted while being held. “It happened when I was alone. You go in to shower and he, the captor, comes in to ‘wash your hair’,” he said in an interview aired Monday evening on Channel 12 News. “He starts soaping you in the shower.” According to him, the captor touched him and “put his hands on me.” “I tried to push him away, told him I could manage on my own. He kept touching you. It was unpleasant.”
