I propose merging Transgender voice surgery into Transgender voice therapy. The topics are extremely similar and WP:OVERLAP each other, so I see no reason for it to be forked into separate articles. It is already partially covered in the article with Transgender voice therapy#Transgender voice surgery, so a merger would be best for WP:REDUNDANTFORK. - I disagree. Transgender voice therapy is a distinctly separate surgical field and should not be categorized as a subheading of Voice Therapy, as Voice Therapy is far less invasive. I don’t think maintaining the current organizational structure of these topics simply because Voice Therapy was here already justifies the potential confusion a reader may have. A more appropriate change would be creating a master article called “Transgender Voice Interventions” (or something similar) with the two approaches as subheadings, but I think there is enough information and data for both that they should be distinct articles. Gaze13 (talk) 19:59, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
- I should also note that I split this article from the original Voice Therapy article. The information on surgery comprised about half of the overall article and was very confusing to read, as many of the elements discussed weren’t relevant to therapy at all. By moving the surgery information to a unique article and leaving a small summary, the readability and comprehension of the voice therapy article is much improved. - Gaze13 said that tvs and tvt are not the same. I also think tvs and tvt do not “overlap” in the sense of “intersect (set theory), in a Venn diagram”.
But I believe that you don’t deny that at all – the issue you brought up from the start is the issue of wp:redundantfork, not the issue of “being the same” or the issue of supposedly duplicating the same content on different pages. Although some may reply to you, “tvs and tvt are clearly contrasted with each other,” I believe that is precisely your point from the outset: that these two distinct topics are two sides of the same coin. But main challenge is, I personally do not know what title will the resultant page be. So I wouldn’t know what exactly I would be agreeing with. “Voice aspects of gender transition”? FatalSubjectivities (talk) 08:51, 29 April 2025 (UTC)

- Oppose merge; the current structure works for readers, with conservative therapies covered at Transgender voice therapy, which also acts an over-arching article, while the more specialized surgical treatments are covered at Transgender voice surgery. They are WP:SUMMARY format, with a short summary at Transgender voice therapy#Transgender voice surgery. Klbrain (talk) 19:08, 10 November 2025 (UTC)
