== Question about Topic Ban ==

I was told by Valereee that I should ask when I question whether or not a page is related to the Arab-Israeli topic. Thus, I ask whether or not [[Palestinian families]] is sufficiently related to the Arab-Israeli conflict to the point that I can not edit the page at all. As [[WP:TOPICBAN]] says, I am not allowed to edit parts of an article that are related to the Arab-Israeli conflict (and I will not), but I don’t think that the entire subject is related to the Arab-Israeli conflict. However, to be safe, I am still asking. [[User:Easternsahara]] 18:27, 17 December 2025 (UTC)

I see you violated again your topic ban on this page with this edit here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk%3AKnafeh&diff=1327920611&oldid=1278092071

The page requires EC and is connected to the Israeli-Arab conflict, please revert your edit. @Valereee

  • TBAN violation at Special:Diff/1327920611. No objection to any other admin lifting this as soon as the editor starts communicating, I gave them a warning 2 days ago which they did see. Valereee (talk) 10:24, 17 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
i did not see a banner on the talk page so I figured that it was not related to the Arab-Israeli conflict. Some of these types of food are just extended-confirmed because nationalists try to claim it for their own country. [1] the page log doesn’t mention any arab-israel thing so i figured it was okay for me to edit the talk page. I looked through the page history briefly and I could not find vandal edits about the Israel-Palestine conflict. Can you tell me why you think it is related to the Arab-Israeli conflict? User:Easternsahara 14:59, 17 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You removed the article from WikiProject Israel. You may or not be aware that Knafeh is the subject of accusations of cultural appropriation into Israeli cuisine, but it doesn’t really matter whether you were aware of that or not. If you’d simply made some typo fix in that article, you’d have been fine; as you said in your edit summary, the article doesn’t currently even mention Israel, and it isn’t bannered.
We could have had this discussion before the block if you’d replied to my warning a couple of days ago about creating redirects. Now that we’re having this discussion, I’ll lift this block right now if you’ll tell me you’ll be more careful. A tban is a PITA, but as you can see people will follow you around trying to find a way to yell “Gotcha”. You need to stay far, far away from anything that gives them the opportunity. (Any TPS: I may be going out for several hours at some point, so any other admin should feel free to lift it once convinced.) Valereee (talk) 15:20, 17 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Okay I will be more careful. I will refrain from removing wikiproject Israel banners on talkpages and I won’t create redirects to arab-israeli topics anymore User:Easternsahara 15:22, 17 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That’s necessary but not sufficient. It is quite likely you would not get another chance if you step over the line again. Valereee (talk) 15:27, 17 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I will of course adhere to the topic ban. Usually unblocking admins want to know what the unblocked person will work on, so i will be trying to get List of World Heritage Sites in Africa to FLC, which I already started at Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of World Heritage Sites in Africa/archive2. When this finishes I will be restructuring List of World Heritage Sites in South America and then asia.
You say that I will not get another chance if I step over the line again, but I think that I will not step over that line again. If I am lying then, as you state, I will get indeffed again and will not be able to cause anymore problems. User:Easternsahara 15:34, 17 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That’s what I meant: step over it again, get indeffed again, and most admins will not find your next promise convincing. I’ll lift the block. Valereee (talk) 15:36, 17 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page stalker) EasternSahara, I would advise you to cease editing any and all articles (including subpages, talk pages, etc.) related to Israel and Palestine, broadly construed, even if it is not directly apparent to be associated with the conflict at hand. That would be the best course of action in your case if you do want to return to editing. That is just my two cents as an uninvolved editor.
