Thanks for the message on my first Wikipedia article. I don’t believe I actually have a COI under the Wikipedia guidelines, and I have most certainly not been paid by anyone to write it. I confess to admiring the book that is the article’s subject, but I strained to be neutral in describing its reception. Featuring, for instance, the only two downright negative reviews I could find, both from minor press, and carefully adding the minor caveats of the positive review in the major press (New York Times, Washington Post, L.A. Times etc.). I wonder if perhaps the article’s last paragraph, from an op-ed column in the Baltimore Sun more than a decade after the book was published, makes it sound like I could have a personal connection. If so, it can go. In any case, I appreciate the time you’ve given this and I’m eager for any specific advice you can give me to make the article better, or avoid seeing this kind of COI objection in the future. Hi! I wanted to reach out because you approved an edit request I proposed on the Our Rescue Talk page about an ESD K-9 section. Another editor came in and broadly reverted three accepted updates to the article, including the ESD K-9 one implemented by Mysecretgarden.

Please do not remove CFD tags from categories that will just be deleted. I have to revert your edits so that the page will have the CFD notice in the deletion tags that explain why the category was deleted. Thank you. Liz ^{Read! Talk!} 22:32, 22 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

For example, look at Category:People from Ifugao by occupation or Category:Ambassadors of Ecuador to Luxembourg and you’ll see the CFD information in the delete notices at the top of the page. If you remove the CFD tag from the page when the discussion is closed, then the admin who deletes the page has to cut and paste the information back in there. So, instead, I reverted your edits that removed the CFD information. The only time that information needs to be removed is if the category is Kept. Thank you. Liz ^{Read! Hi best editor on Wikipedia @GoldRomean, on Pripyat, I made an edit at https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Pripyat&diff=prev&oldid=1312846530 claiming that I added more detail to the short description, but an IP reverted it saying it is “unnecessary” as their first edit. But do you think my edit was correct or the IP’s edit was correct? BTW, Sorry about the full caps message saying “MORE DETAILED!!!!!!!!!” Although I don’t think this is yelling and permits a revert. Hey @Rafaelthegreat! See WP:YELL: Avoid excessive emphasis: ALL CAPS and enlarged fonts may be considered shouting and are rarely appropriate. In general, there is no real reason to use all caps for anything at all when communicating on Wikipedia (unless you’re linking to something like WP:TEAHOUSE. If you disagree with the IP, the correct procedure is to leave a note on their talk page and discuss (WP:BRD).

Although I agree that yelling itself does not merit the revert, I do side with the IP on this one. Short descriptions are generally supposed to be, well, short. Adding the word “industrial” isn’t critically necessary.
