:::I would like to kindly clarify that the information stating “He fought in World War 2 and he also survived the sinking of the Italian luxury liner the Andrea Doria” refers to Carlo Iacobelli, father of Olindo, and not to Olindo himself. Hello! I’m Pbritti. I just wanted to let you know that your recent edit(s) have been reverted because they appear to have added incorrect information. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite a reliable source, discuss it on the article’s talk page, or leave me a message on my talk page. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Thank you. Pbritti (talk) 04:01, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hello,
- Thank you for your message. I kindly ask you to restore my recent edits to the article. All the information I added is true, fully certified, and correct. The changes were made by Olindo Iacobelli himself (the subject of the article), specifically to provide accurate details and prevent any misinformation, errors, or speculation. I can verify my identity as Olindo Iacobelli at any time if necessary. My intention is only to ensure the article is as complete and reliable as possible, in accordance with Wikipedia’s purpose. Please let me know if you require any additional proof or explanations regarding the content I contributed.
- Thank you for your attention. Olindo24 (talk) 04:16, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
- If you are indeed Olindo Iacobelli, consider instead contributing the same information to a reliable historical or news organization. Wikipedia requires reliable sources that can be cited and referred to for the sake of verifiability. Unfortunately, we can’t simply take someone on their word that they are indeed knowledgeable about a subject (even if that subject is themselves). Consider reading WP:ABOUTSELF and WP:AUTOBIOGRAPHY for additional guidance. If you know of reliable sources that have covered Iacobelli in the past, please share them here or at the article and I can see what we can do. Best, ~ Pbritti (talk) 04:26, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you again for your reply and for your commitment to accuracy on Wikipedia.
- I would like to clarify that part of the information I added was integrated directly from the French Wikipedia page about me, with appropriate attribution. I also included several citations referencing published statistics and articles about my career. Many of the articles and news reports that discuss my career, given that I just turned 80 years old, were published in print newspapers over the decades. I am in the process of collecting and digitizing these materials, which are currently in my possession, and I will be happy to share scans or transcriptions of these sources as soon as they are available.
- I am committed to ensuring that all information in my biography is properly referenced and verifiable according to Wikipedia’s standards. If you have any recommendations on the best way to cite these print sources or suggestions for improving the article’s sourcing, I would greatly appreciate your advice.
- Thank you for your patience and your help.
