Hey man, I was reading the Bret Weinstein profile (not only this page but a

a LOT of pages over the years that I think are inaccurately portrayed). The bias on Wikipedia is, in my opinion, incredible and absurd in many cases.

Curious on your thoughts. –[[User:Alex.mackenzie.321|Alex.mackenzie.321]] ([[User talk:Alex.mackenzie.321|talk]]) 05:59, 9 November 2025 (UTC)

I would like to make an edit on the page for David Broza. It doesn’t have the correct information about his current residence nor his current wife. Here is what I would like to add:
David Broza is married to Israeli fashion designer Nili Lotan. They were married in 2011.
Nili Lotan: is a well-known fashion designer, and the couple resides in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City. —TorahMorah (talk) 03:42, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! The page isn’t protected so you can make the edit. Make sure to back up any claims with a reliable source because otherwise your changes may be removed. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 07:54, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Scrabble. Apologies for not editing correctly. I am the Lyndon Williams in person and was just updating my personal Wikipedia page. Are you able to reinstate my minor updates or do I have to redo them? Many Thnaks, Lyndon 2A02:C7C:CA7A:900:D472:90F9:417D:A0AF (talk) 11:54, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! I removed your edits because they weren’t backed up by sources and on Wikipedia, especially with BLPs, we want all claims to be backed up by a citation. As you have admitted to being the person in question, I need to point you toward WP:COI, as you obviously have a conflict of interest. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 11:58, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I’m pretty upset to see that you have deleted all the work I have done on the Observatory page. I know you felt it was unsourced but please understand that I’m just learning how to put sources in. Thsi is html code and I’m not very good at it. I’ve just learned that the correct way to add a source is. In good faith I’m going back to the page now to add the sources and I discover you have deleted hours of work. Dear ScrabbleTiles could you please, rather than using your special powers just to delete valuable work, get a little pedagogical and help honest people liek myself whose only wish is to imprve pages in our own time. I am very respectful and doing this honestly. PLease put my changes back in and I’ll add the sources requested – I’ve just understood how to do it. Counting on your help and support! Let’s do this! All the best. Frogprincess66 (talk) 14:38, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! I removed what you added because it wasn’t backed up by a source. If you want to work on articles in your own time, then I’d suggest using your sandbox to develop your edits and then add them when they are ready to be included. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 14:45, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Good tip. Will do. But help to understand. You have left in the general SCOPE chapter which is complete and up to date but contains no links. Could you explain why? I’m going to work on the page and put in sources. In stead of deleting my work, could you contact me on this page – you’re very quick and that’s so great. Just tell me what isn’t correct for you OK? Thanks ScrabbleTiles! Frogprincess66 (talk) 15:00, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The scope chapter would have been removed in my revert as well, had there not been a maintenance bot performing tasks on that article and splitting up your edits. Would you be able to find sources for the scope paragraph as well and add them as that would be very helpful. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 15:05, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Pretty sure I can try that. Watch this space and see if I’m doing this right. Thanks so much! Frogprincess66 (talk) 15:10, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
There you go – I’ve added some sources. I’d apprcaite your opinion! Frogprincess66 (talk) 15:26, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It would be good to have some non primary sources as well, but at least you are backing up your claims now. Could you try to find some sources for the paragraphs without them as well? ScrabbleTiles (talk) 15:51, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

OK that’s very clear. Onto it now. So we can keep the SCOPE paragraph, right? I’ll add another one this evening and be sure to add some sources – primary and non! I think I’ve cracked tha adding of references. Thank you so much for your time and advice. Frogprincess66 (talk) 16:32, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
OK so now I learn that you cannot use another wikipedia page as a non primary source as this is referred to as a circular reference. This is not allowed as I understand. Got it! Frogprincess66 (talk) 16:42, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

its confusing how to insert images if its on wikipedia. —AnGrade7ParagraphWriter (talk) 17:21, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! This should help you Help:Introduction to images with Wiki Markup/3 but if it doesn’t, feel free to ask me and I’ll try to explain it. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 17:26, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I don’t understand what you mean. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 18:42, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, ScrabbleTiles. This message is being sent to remind you of significant upcoming changes regarding logged-out editing.

Starting 4 November, logged-out editors will no longer have their IP address publicly displayed. Instead, they will have a temporary account (TA) associated with their edits. Users with some extended rights like administrators and CheckUsers, as well as users with the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) user right will still be able to reveal temporary users’ IP addresses and all contributions made by temporary accounts from a specific IP address or range.

How do temporary accounts work?

Editing from a temporary account
  • When a logged-out user completes an edit or a logged action for the first time, a cookie will be set in this user’s browser and a temporary account tied with this cookie will be automatically created for them. This account’s name will follow the pattern: ~2025-12345-67 (a tilde, year of creation, a number split into units of 5).
  • All subsequent actions by the temporary account user will be attributed to this username. The cookie will expire 90 days after its creation. As long as it exists, all edits made from this device will be attributed to this temporary account. It will be the same account even if the IP address changes, unless the user clears their cookies or uses a different device or web browser.
  • A record of the IP address used at the time of each edit will be stored for 90 days after the edit. Users with the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) user right will be able to see the underlying IP addresses.
  • As a measure against vandalism, there are two limitations on the creation of temporary accounts:
    • There has to be a minimum of 10 minutes between subsequent temporary account creations from the same IP (or /64 range in case of IPv6).
    • There can be a maximum of 6 temporary accounts created from an IP (or /64 range) within a period of 24 hours.

How to enable IP Reveal

Impact for administrators

  • It will be possible to block many abusers by just blocking their temporary accounts. A blocked person won’t be able to create new temporary accounts quickly if the admin selects the autoblock option.
  • It will still be possible to block an IP address or IP range.
  • Temporary accounts will not be retroactively applied to contributions made before the deployment. On Special:Contributions, you will be able to see existing IP user contributions, but not new contributions made by temporary accounts on that IP address. Instead, you should use Special:IPContributions for this (see a video about IPContributions in a gallery below).

Rules about IP information disclosure

  • Publicizing an IP address gained through TAIV access is generally not allowed (e.g. ~2025-12345-67 previously edited as 192.0.2.1 or ~2025-12345-67’s IP address is 192.0.2.1).
  • Publicly linking a TA to another TA is allowed if “reasonably believed to be necessary”. (e.g. ~2025-12345-67 and ~2025-12345-68 are likely the same person, so I am counting their reverts together toward 3RR, but not Hey ~2025-12345-68, you did some good editing as ~2025-12345-67)
  • See Wikipedia:Temporary account IP viewer § What can and can’t be said for more detailed guidelines.

Useful tools for patrollers

  • It is possible to view if a user has opted-in to view temporary account IPs via the User Info card, available in Preferences → Appearance → Advanced options → Tick Enable the user info card
    • This feature also makes it possible for anyone to see the approximate count of temporary accounts active on the same IP address range.
  • Special:IPContributions allows viewing all edits and temporary accounts connected to a specific IP address or IP range.
  • Similarly, Special:GlobalContributions supports global search for a given temporary account’s activity.
  • The auto-reveal feature (see video below) allows users with the right permissions to automatically reveal all IP addresses for a limited time window.

I have had the bod reverse several of my wording edits. How do I see what was reversed? —Sciencenutritionhealth (talk) 20:58, 3 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I am new to editing. In looking at the page for Syed Amin Tabish, it looks like he could “walk in water”. Who verifies all the awards, positions, etc that are part of the page? This seems to be a bigger potential issue than a few wording mistakes. —Sciencenutritionhealth (talk) 21:00, 3 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Do you think the article fails WP:NPOV? ScrabbleTiles (talk) 17:34, 4 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I want to create a page about me and my work as a Musician. Where do I start? —Mwine Mugume (talk) 13:03, 5 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! As said on your talk page, writing an article about yourself is strongly discouraged, per WP:AUTO, as they tend to fail WP:NPOV and have notability issues. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 17:44, 5 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Good morning,
I am the executive director of a museum that is opening in a couple of weeks, and I was alerted to the fact that there is no Wikipedia page about the museum, or the heritage site where it is located. I wanted to create a Wikipedia page for the museum. There are plenty of published sources I can use (that are not by me).
I realize this is a conflict of interest, but I’m not sure how to handle that. If a board member or an intern writes the article, it’s still a conflict of interest. It seems like less of a conflict of interest for me, since I am not directly being paid to write the article, as an intern would be. I could get a friend to write it, but that feels like just as much of a conflict of interest. Will I be allowed to write this article even though I am the director of the museum? —JohnnyMort835 (talk) 15:39, 8 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! There is guidance about this at WP:COI. You need to declare your conflict of interest on the article and on your user page, but as long as you follow WP:NPOV and have plenty of reliable sources, you should be alright. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 17:22, 8 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Can you tell me how do I use hyperlinks and input references properly? —Thehistorian999 (talk) 17:52, 8 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! The general guideline of referencing for beginners is WP:REFB. See if that helps and if it doesn’t, then I can try and explain. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 19:05, 8 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I’d like to download some pictures and will need your help with this —Gleganof (talk) 02:06, 9 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
