Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, website, or role, which is against the username policy.
If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:
- Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
- Provide a new username.
To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text “Your proposed new username” with your new username and replace the text “Your reason here” with your reasons to be unblocked.
Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you’d like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text “Your reason here” with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Mfield (Oi!) 20:47, 10 October 2025 (UTC)

Request reason:
I’m requesting an unblock of my account, Muellermedia. I created the account with the intent to eventually draft a Wikipedia article for Paul Mueller Company, where I work. I understand that this may present as a conflict of interest, even though I was not specifically paid or directed to create the article, and I drafted content in good faith using neutral language and a mix of sources.
The content I drafted was neutral in tone, focused primarily on the company’s history, manufacturing locations, and industries served. While some material came from the company website, I also referenced independent sources where available, and intended to improve it further before ever considering submission.
The draft was created in my sandbox and not submitted for publication. I understand that any company-related contributions should go through the proper disclosure and review channels, and I’m happy to follow those going forward.
I did not publish the article to the mainspace, I only used the “publish” function in the sandbox as a way to save my work while drafting.
If unblocked, I will avoid direct edits on any topics where I have a conflict and instead suggest edits via Talk pages or appropriate processes.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Administrators should consider discussing any unblock with the blocking administrator (see the blocking policy).
If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, please replace this template with the following:

- Hi there! To help us respond to the request, please do the following:
- Review Wikipedia’s payment disclosure and conflict of interest policies and guidelines, then explain in your own words how those apply to your block and what you would do differently if unblocked. You’ve done a few of the recommended actions, but there’s more to it. Please note that because you are editing about your employer, you are a paid editor, regardless of whether you’ve specifically been paid to edit.
- Describe the types of edits you would like to make if you were unblocked.
- Thank you! Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 23:14, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the feedback, Significa liberdade, this has been very helpful in better understanding the policies and guidelines of Wikipedia.
- I’ve reviewed Wikipedia’s policies on paid editing and conflict of interest, including the Terms of Use regarding paid contributions, the conflict of interest guideline, and related editing standards.
- I now understand that because I am an employee of Paul Mueller Company, any edits I make related to the company are considered paid contributions under Wikipedia’s definition, even if I was not specifically directed or compensated to create the draft. I acknowledge that I should have disclosed this more explicitly, using the appropriate templates and edit summaries, and I will correct that going forward.
- I want to clarify that I did not intend to publish the article myself. My plan was always to eventually submit the draft through the Articles for Creation (AfC) process, once the content was more complete and I had ensured it met Wikipedia’s standards for neutrality and sourcing. I simply clicked “publish” because I was under the impression this is how you save it in sandbox mode. I now also understand that using the “publish” button in the sandbox can be misinterpreted, even though my intent was only to save my progress. I will avoid this confusion in the future.
- If unblocked, I will not make direct edits to the article namespace on any topic where I have a conflict of interest. Instead, I will continue drafting in my sandbox and submit the content through AfC for review by independent editors. I will also maintain a clear paid editing disclosure on my user page using the appropriate template (just disclosed this) and will engage transparently on talk pages if I have suggestions or questions about related content.
- The only type of editing I plan to do is preparing a factual, neutrally written draft about Paul Mueller Company based on reliable sources. I welcome feedback and review from the community and will leave final editorial decisions to uninvolved editors. When I am in progress for creating the page, I will include something such as “Drafting article for AfC review. Not ready for submission.” if I need to save it and exit my browser.
- Thank you for your time and consideration.

- (Non-administrator comment) Hi @Muellermedia, are you interested in editing any other topics or areas, or just that article?
- I also wanted to point out that having an article on Wikipedia isn’t always a good thing – once it’s out there you have no control over it and it may include negative points or controversies if these arise in future & meet the criteria for inclusion. You can’t let the genie out of the bottle, so-to-speak.
- It’s also incredibly difficult to write neutrally about something you have a vested interest in. It’s hard enough for an experienced editor and can be almost impossible for someone without any editing experience on Wikipedia. This is an encyclopedia first and foremost, so they’re are strict rules we need to follow in other to be objective. See this article for another explanation of the point I’m trying to make.
- There is also a possibility that you might not be allowed to edit any articles on your company for the foreseeable future, so if you’re only interested in this one article it’s a good idea to make that clear as soon as possible.
- Alternatively, if you’re interested in gaining experience in other areas, if you let us know your interests we can help guide you on where to start? Blue Sonnet (talk) 17:54, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi again, and thank you for the follow-up.
- I appreciate the reminder about how content on Wikipedia is managed once published. I fully understand that Wikipedia articles, once live, are owned and edited by the community, and I have no expectation of controlling the content. My intent in drafting an article about Paul Mueller Company was not promotional, but to document the company’s historical and technical contributions in a neutral, well-sourced manner.
- I understand that even with the best intentions, writing neutrally about a subject I’m professionally connected to is challenging, which is why I never intended to directly publish the article myself. I now recognize that even drafting it without proper disclosure created confusion, and I take full responsibility for that. If given the opportunity, I will stick to appropriate disclosure practices and use the Articles for Creation (AfC) process for any drafts related to my employer, leaving final editorial judgment to uninvolved editors.
- In addition to this article, I’d like to contribute more broadly. Paul Mueller Company has expertise in industries like brewing, dairy, heat transfer, and pharmaceutical manufacturing, as well as technologies such as stainless steel processing and thermal energy storage. I’m interested in contributing to topics in those areas, especially by improving technical accuracy, adding references, or suggesting edits to expand existing entries. I’m also open to learning about other areas where help is needed, and would welcome guidance from experienced editors on how to get started.
- Thanks again for your time and consideration. I’m here to collaborate constructively and respectfully with the community, and I appreciate the opportunity to demonstrate that. Muellermedia (talk) 18:59, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
- Per point 4 of the block notice, you need to change your username to one that relates to you as an individual (no need to reveal your real name), not to a collective entity such as a business, or to a function such as ‘marketing’ or ‘editor’. What do you want your new username to be? — DoubleGrazing (talk) 13:32, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the feedback. I’d like my username changed to StainlessSteelEditor_40, if available. This reflects my commitment to contributing to industries I have extensive knowledge and experience with.
- Also, now that I’m taking the right steps, could you please let me know if there’s anything else I need to do before I begin drafting a proposed article for review through the Articles for Creation (AfC) process?
- I understand I need to continue disclosing my conflict of interest, use reliable independent sources, and submit drafts for review rather than editing directly. I’m happy to follow all of that.
- Lastly, would it be possible to restore my deleted sandbox draft? I’d appreciate being able to use it as a starting point, especially since I was working on making it more neutral and better sourced before it was removed. Muellermedia (talk) 14:57, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- Given your continued interest in the Paul Mueller Company, can you provide three reliable, independent sources with significant coverage of the company? These should not primarily routine coverage. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 17:47, 18 October 2025 (UTC)
- Sure thing. I have three articles for you to take a look at regarding an instance of company growth, one on share repurchasing, and one on the company’s history from an interview with the founder.
