I understand the concern. To be clear: I’m the founder of Witsteen BV and that does mean I have a conflict of interest.
I’ll put a proper disclosure on my user page if I’m unblocked.
I don’t want to use Wikipedia for promotions. I only want to make sure articles about Witsteen or Battle for Randland are accurate, neutral, and based on good sources.
I’m also fine with not directly creating the articles myself, but instead leaving that to independent editors and just helping with references or drafts.
I’d just like to keep editing under a personal username (JensPeeters1994) and follow the rules the right way.

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, website, or role, which is against the username policy.
If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:
- Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
- Provide a new username.
To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text “Your proposed new username” with your new username and replace the text “Your reason here” with your reasons to be unblocked.
Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you’d like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text “Your reason here” with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. UtherSRG (talk) 16:20, 13 September 2025 (UTC)

Request reason:
- I will edit under my real name and disclose any conflict of interest.
- I would like to contribute neutrally to articles and follow Wikipedia’s policies. WitsteenBV (talk) 16:29, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
Administrators should consider discussing any unblock with the blocking administrator (see the blocking policy).
If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, please replace this template with the following:
{{unblock-un on hold | 1=blocking administrator | 2=JensPeeters1994 | 3=I understand I should not use a company name as a username.- I will edit under my real name and disclose any conflict of interest.
I would like to contribute neutrally to articles and follow Wikipedia's policies. WitsteenBV (talk) 16:29, 13 September 2025 (UTC) | 4=~~~~}}
If you accept the unblock request, replace this template with the following:
{{unblock-un reviewed | 1=JensPeeters1994 | reason=I understand I should not use a company name as a username.- I will edit under my real name and disclose any conflict of interest.
I would like to contribute neutrally to articles and follow Wikipedia's policies. WitsteenBV (talk) 16:29, 13 September 2025 (UTC) | accept=Allowing username change to requested username. Please select an option from [[Wikipedia:Changing username]] and file a request as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. ~~~~}}
If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following, replacing {{subst:Decline reason here}} with any specific rationale. If you do not edit the text after “decline=”, a default reason why the request was declined will be inserted.
{{unblock-un reviewed | 1=JensPeeters1994 | reason=I understand I should not use a company name as a username.- I will edit under my real name and disclose any conflict of interest.
I would like to contribute neutrally to articles and follow Wikipedia's policies. WitsteenBV (talk) 16:29, 13 September 2025 (UTC) | decline={{subst:Decline reason here}} ~~~~}}
What contributions do you want to make? You may disclose your conflict of interest now, on this page, for later transfer to your user page. If you are employed by this company you must make the stricter paid editing disclosure. 331dot (talk) 09:37, 14 September 2025 (UTC)
- To clarify my intent: I am affiliated with Witsteen BV, the developer of *Battle for Randland*.
- My purpose is not promotion, but to ensure that neutral, well-sourced information about the company is available on Wikipedia,
- since it is tied to *The Wheel of Time* franchise through an official license.
- I understand Wikipedia’s conflict of interest and paid-contribution policies, and I will disclose my affiliation on my user page once unblocked.
- My edits will follow a neutral point of view and rely only on reliable, independent sources.
- Conflict of interest disclosure
- I am affiliated with Witsteen BV (Witsteen Studios), the developer of *Battle for Randland*.
- Because of this, I may contribute to related Wikipedia articles.
- I am committed to following Wikipedia’s conflict of interest and paid-contribution policies,
- and I will edit only to improve neutrality, reliability, and verifiability with proper sourcing. WitsteenBV (talk) 10:06, 14 September 2025 (UTC)
