Recovering my vast number of previous accounts
Hi @Yamla, I have been a Wikipedia editor since at least 2018 and possibly before on a very sporadic basis. A majority of this time I was a literal child with minimal internet skills; I did know how to create a Wikipedia account though, and that is my dilemma. I would like to ask a favour of you or any other checkusers available, to please help me identify all my accounts. I’d like to start using Wikipedia more frequently and in that case it would be good to know for sure which accounts were once mine. Also for posterity’s sake, it would be humorous to see what 11 year old me was messing with. Thanks, Kmhkei (talk) 13:35, 24 January 2026 (UTC)

Happy new year from Bishonen and Bishzilla!

Hi Yamla,

Thanks for taking care of that vandal on my talk page. In the same matter, I might need a Wikipedia:Oversight and some user banning on the Simple English Wikipedia. The same vandal has vandalized my talk page there and has decided to expose my deadname there.

Let me know if that’s something you can help with! Casspedia (talk) 15:50, 9 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! The vandalism is continuing (one new account and another IP). Seems like it’s the same vandal.
I’ve requested semi-protection on my user page and talk page. Might need an admin and/or a WP:CHECKUSER to swoop in and do something about it. Casspedia (talk) 16:09, 9 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies, I didn’t see this message when I wrote the one below. The editor is a long abuse editor, so the best thing to do in this case would be to deny recognition and report them to ANI or AIV instead of continually reporting them to SPI if they keep making sockpuppet accounts. thetechie@enwiki:~$ she/they | talk | contributions 03:24, 13 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page stalker) @Casspedia I’m not Yamla, but I will note that the editor’s edits on Simple Wikipedia have been revdel’d, as I can’t see any contributions. In addition, their account has been globally locked, so they can’t edit on any Wikimedia wiki. thetechie@enwiki:~$ she/they | talk | contributions 03:22, 13 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I don’t have access to the edit-history now, but did you consider If the page in question contains substantial edits made to it by good faith users, it is not eligible for G5.? GrÃ¥bergs GrÃ¥a SÃ¥ng (talk) 13:02, 16 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I did. The supermajority of content was from the blocked editor. However, I’m happy to undelete it if you think it’s worth keeping and cleaning up. If so, I’d probably place it under protection to prevent it being further targeted by the banned editor. Be aware, all of the content from that editor should be treated with suspicion. It could be generated by an LLM, it could contain maliciously false information, etc. Let me know if you’d like it restored. —Yamla (talk) 13:08, 16 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

As long as you considered it, I don’t have strong opinion. GrÃ¥bergs GrÃ¥a SÃ¥ng (talk) 13:12, 16 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. I’m going to leave it deleted. But if you or anyone else (who isn’t a sockpuppet) wants to work on the article and wants it restored, I’m willing to do so. —Yamla (talk) 13:13, 16 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Your claim that “nothing’s stopping [me] achieving consensus on the article’s talk page” is untrue. As shown on the article’s talk page, I did attempt to reach consensus and counterparty was actively belligerent throughout; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Monica_Seles#Serbian?. The net effect of blocking administrator’s judgement is threefold;

 • the current state of the article is at odds with sources,
 • the judgement reward’s counterparty’s belligerent edits to maintain an article that is at odd with sources,
 • and sends an unclear and contradictory message about what the expected behaviour of this site is.

Your decline did not address any of the second-order consequences that are readily anticipated when considering the issues I raised. Breadpachinko (talk) 20:51, 17 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I can’t help you with content disputes. —Yamla (talk) 11:14, 18 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I didn’t ask you to. Breadpachinko (talk) 17:32, 18 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Yamla, do you think we could narrow this rangeblock by half? [1]. Here via [2]. Looks to me like the problems have been occuring on the front end, ie, 98.116.0.0/17. But I’m new to handling ACC requests, and might be missing something? — asilvering (talk) 20:56, 19 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Certainly. Do you think just nothing at all on the other half, or a range block that allows account creation? I’m good either way. —Yamla (talk) 21:10, 19 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the other information I have available to me shows that it’s probably worth simply ignoring the other half. I’ll go do that now. —Yamla (talk) 21:11, 19 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
