Coffee Flight is a method of serving a variety of caffeinated and De-caffeinated drink samples, either hot or cold, in small quantities. Similar to a Beer flight, a Coffee Flight may come served on a paddle or board. The number of coffee samples per flight can vary, and is typically 3 to 6.
Served at a coffeehouse, a caffeinated flight is made with espresso or Cold brew coffee. A Latte flight is a popular hot flight, consisting of a coffeehouse’s most popular or seasonal creations. De-caffeinated drinks called Steamers are often times another flight option, which is a Latte without the espresso.
Cold flights may include creamy iced coffee varieties, depending on the specific coffeehouse. Some coffee houses offer both caffeinated and decaffeinated flights.
The first Coffee Flight was invented in 2021[1] by Mary Tuomi at Loco Espress Coffee House and Boutique[2], inspired by the concept from a local Brewery[3].
