The Singles Chart is a weekly record chart based on single sales from Sunday to Saturday; during the 2010s, a total of 80 singles reached number one. The most successful artist of the 2010s was Barbadian singer Rihanna which spent 36 weeks at the top of the Singles Chart during the decade, with six different releases. “Wake Me Up” (2013) by Swedish DJ Avicii was the biggest-selling single of the decade; it spent 12 consecutive weeks at number one. The first number-one single of the 2010s was “Meet Me Halfway” by The Black Eyed Peas – released in 2009, first reached number one in December, and remained at the top for five consecutive weeks. The final number one of the decade was “Ritmo (Bad Boys for Life)” also by The Black Eyed Peas and Colombian singer J Balvin.

Barbadian singer Rihanna spent 36 weeks at the top of the Singles Chart during the 2010s, with six different releases, the most of any act. Rihanna also had two entries in the top 20 best-selling singles chart: “Love the Way You Lie” (2010) with American rapper Eminem at number 7 and “We Found Love” with Scottish DJ Calvin Harris at number 19.
Wake Me Up” (2013) by Swedish DJ Avicii was the biggest-selling single of the decade; it spent 12 consecutive weeks at number one, longer than any other single, tying with “Lean On” and “Despacito”.
Australian singer and songwriter Sia had the most entries in the top 20 best-selling singles chart with three: the remix of her 2016 single “Cheap Thrills” with Jamaican singer Sean Paul is the fourth best-selling of the decade and the best-selling released by a female act; “Titanium” with French DJ David Guetta at number 12, while “Chandelier” (2014) at number 17. She also spent 31 weeks at number one during the decade, second only to Rihanna.
Lean On” (2015) by Jamaican-American EDM DJ trio Major Lazer (pictured), French record producer DJ Snake and Danish singer MØ is the second best-selling single of the decade; the song spent 12 consecutive weeks at number one, tying the record with “Wake Me Up” and “Despacito”.
Uptown Funk” (2014) by British-American record producer Mark Ronson and American singer and songwriter Bruno Mars (pictured) is the third best-selling single of the decade.
Despacito” (2017) by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi (pictured) and Puerto Rican rapper Daddy Yankee is the fifth best-selling and the best-selling non-English language song of the decade.
