The 2nd Satsuma Rebellion or also known as the Great Southwestern Uprising was a large-scale conflict fought between the Empire of Japan and the Satsuma Loyalist Army and Great Southwestern Army, lasted from May 1878 to 1879. Resulted an Imperial Japanese victory.
