I and some off-line/on-line collaboraters are working on expanding Surry County, North Carolina as well as its history, geography, and colorful sense of place. We have successfully completed entries with identification maps for all 15 of Surry’s townships and have created entries (or expanded) for each of the populated places identified by the USGS that have not been mostly annexed by municipalities (Hollyview Forest-Highland Park in Mount Airy, North Carolina and Elkin Valley and North Elkin in Elkin, North Carolina).
