William R. Scott, a Florida attorney and congressman, was born in Sandusky, Ohio in 1920. He moved with his family to Miami, Florida while still an infant and was reared there. Scott served in World War II in U.S. counterintelligence as an Army Captain, then returned to the University of Florida to receive his law degree.
