I am a scientist with broad interests, training, and experiences, but ultimately it was my fascination with maps, quantitative methods, and trying to understand and explain the spatial nature of social and physical phenomena that guided me to a career in geography, culminating in a Ph.D. in geography with specialization in geographic information science (GISc) and geocomputation along with minors in and . I am currently a geography and anthropology professor at a community college, which allows me to try to engage freshman and sophomore students in a broad range of topics, as well as a part-time lecturer of upper-division and graduate-level GISc courses at the local university. |

I am a scientist with broad interests, training, and experiences, but ultimately it was my fascination with maps, quantitative methods, and trying to understand and explain the spatial nature of both social and physical phenomena that guided me to a career in geography, culminating in a Ph.D. in geography, with specialization in geographic information science (GISc) and geocomputation, along with minors in anthropology and history. I am currently a geography and anthropology professor at a community college, which allows me to try to engage freshman and sophomore students in a broad range of topics, as well as a part-time lecturer of upper-division and graduate-level GISc courses at the local university. I am also a long-time martial artist and fan of a broad spectrum of music genre. I primarily edit articles dealing with these interests.
