Savage Son is a thriller novel written by Jack Carr. It was Carr’s third book preceded by True Believer, and was followed by The Devil’s Hand.
Plot summary
James Reece stays in Montana to heal from surgery. Vic Rodriguez, a contact, warns him that a group from Russia plans to kill him and his friend Raife Hastings. The quiet woods soon turn into a place for a fight. Reece realizes he cannot leave his past behind. Reece and Katie Buranek drive toward town when men try to kill them. This failed hit was planned by Oliver Grey, a man who once worked for the government but now wants Reece dead. Reece sees he is still being followed. He must now watch his back while looking for those who sent the shooters.
The men also target the Hastings family ranch. Raife’s mother, Caroline, leads her family to fight back. Reece and Raife shoot to stop the attackers. This fight shows that Reece’s enemies are willing to kill his friends to get to him.
