Where Winds Meet (Chinese: 燕云十六声) is a wuxia action-adventure role-playing game developed by Everstone Studio and published by NetEase Games.

The open beta of Where Winds Meet launched for PC on December 27, 2024, and for mobile on January 9, 2025, in China. The game was released worldwide for PC and PlayStation 5 on November 14, 2025.

Players follow the path of a wandering adventurer, known as a youxia in wuxia tradition, and can pursue a large variety of professions.[6] The combat system features multiple weapon types, each of which is associated with different styles of martial arts.[7] As of the game’s launch, the available weapon types include swords, dual blades, spears, glaives, rope darts, fans, and combat umbrellas.[8] A sword, for example, can be wielded using the Nameless Sword or the Strategic Sword as the style of martial arts.[7] There are also mystic arts, which consist of offensive, movement, and general skills.[9] For example, Tai Chi is a skill that pulls, whirls, and hurls a target during combat.[9]

The game takes place in an open world.[1]

The game is free-to-play and features a monetization model that does not involve pay-to-win elements.[10][11]

Where Winds Meet is set during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period.[1][10][12][13] Its world is influenced by the wuxia tradition.[1][10]

Where Winds Meet is a game developed by Everstone Studio and published by NetEase Games.[14][15] It utilizes the Messiah Engine.[16] Stephen Tung, a martial arts choreographer, was brought on to help with the action design.[17][18]

Everstone Studio unveiled Where Winds Meet during 2022 gamescom.[19][20] The game was released worldwide for PC and PlayStation 5 on November 14, 2025.[17]

The PC open beta started on December 27, 2024, in China.[21] The mobile open beta started on January 9, 2025, in China.[22]

Everstone Studio announced that the final closed beta for Where Winds Meet would run worldwide from July 24 to July 31, 2025, on PC and PlayStation 5.[23][24] A trailer released by Sony revealed that the game would be a PlayStation 5 console exclusive for at least six months after its launch.[25] During 2025 gamescom, Everstone Studio announced that the game would be released for PC and PlayStation 5 on November 14, 2025.[26][17]

Where Winds Meet received “mixed or average” reviews on PC and “generally favorable” reviews on PlayStation 5 from critics, according to review aggregator website Metacritic.[27][28]

Where Winds Meet surpassed 3 million downloads within four days of its December 2024 PC launch in China.[29]

In November 2025, ahead of its worldwide launch, Where Winds Meet surpassed 10 million pre-registrations.[30] Within 24 hours of its global release, the game reached over 2 million players.[31] Within a few days, it reached over 190 thousand concurrent players on Steam.[31][32] In its second week, it reached over 250 thousand concurrent players on Steam.[33]
