@Yikes2004: hi! So part of being a WikiProject is that we’re supposed to watch over some articles. I know you like Nicki Minaj a lot, so if you could, I’d like you to go to every single Nicki Minaj related article’s talk page and add this banner to each page:
The template is Template:WikiProject Women in hip hop music. To use it you will take the title and add two brackets ( {{ }} ) around the title of the template, which will add it to the page. If you have any questions, you can ask me here or on my talk page. Thank you. versacespaceleave a message! 17:41, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ok🙂 Yikes2004 (talk) 17:04, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Where do I find the Nicki Minaj talk pages (I’m so embarassed to ask that question 🙈) Yikes2004 (talk) 17:20, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Yikes2004: just find articles about her and go to their talk pages. the icon that says “talk” at the top of the page will bring you to the talk page. Example, Talk:Pink Friday versacespaceleave a message! 17:23, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I see this project was never formally proposed for creation at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals. You’ll have a much better chance at getting this off the ground by following the proper procedures. Honestly, this should just be a task force for Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in music. But please make a proposal first. Thanks. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 23:28, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Starcheerspeaksnewslostwars: I agree. It should be a task force like Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in music/Classical music task force. Sunrise In Brooklyn 04:01, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi all,

I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask but I believe Lakeyah, whose profile has risen significantly this past year and is named alongside notable rappers like Flo Milli or 42 Dugg (both who have pages) on various lists, hits the notability criteria but I’m in over my head in creating a page from scratch. Is that something folks are interested in working on? The link is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Lakeyah

She’s definitely been the subject of published works that are reliable and not self-promotional, such as Rolling Stone and XXL Magazine. She has two albums through Quality Control Music, and is the most high profile rapper of any identity marker from Milwaukee and a prominent representative of current Midwest hip hop. It seems to be she could easily meet Wikipedia’s notability guidelines for a musician but not sure how to best demonstrate that. 2600:1700:B870:9670:A97F:8D08:2C7B:C3E0 (talk) 21:26, 12 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello WikiProject Women in hip-hop:
WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Editathon event in October 2025!

Running from October 1 to 31, 2025, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) editathon event with the theme What Women Do! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We’ll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you’re an old hand at GAs – we’d love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women’s works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 different occupations or professions (or broader roles in society) by month’s end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.

We hope to see you there!
