Article seems to fail WP:GNG and has been unsourced since 2021 except external links. Serbian Wikipedia is fully sourced but relies too much on passing mentions and primary ones. I found this one there, which is close to SIGCOV, but nothing else to support notability. WP:BEFORE is difficult because this name is so common, even while searching in Serbian (Алекса Јанковић). ⋆。˚꒰ঌ Clara A. Djalim ໒꒱˚。⋆ 10:08, 22 January 2026 (UTC)
- Comment – i also volunteer [1] as a source. This one is a bit tricky, so I’ll !vote later. JustARandomSquid (talk) 10:51, 23 January 2026 (UTC)
Janković is a fully professional footballer with 60+ appearances in the Serbian SuperLiga (top-tier league), has played in UEFA Conference League matches with Čukarički, and currently plays professionally abroad in the Azerbaijan Premier League.
The subject is covered by multiple independent reliable sources, including Mozzart Sport, Kurir, B92 and Nova.rs, which provide non-trivial coverage of his transfers, contracts, injury reports and European competition appearances. These are national sports media outlets, not routine database listings.
This satisfies both the general notability guideline (significant coverage in reliable secondary sources) and the football notability criteria for professional players competing in fully professional top divisions.
Article has now been improved with proper sourcing and independent references.
Deletion would not be appropriate.

- NFOOTY is totally irrelevant here – all that matters is GNG. Where are the sources showing significant coverage? GiantSnowman 07:20, 25 January 2026 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman
- Thanks for the question.
- The key point here is that the article does now contain multiple independent reliable sources that provide significant coverage on Aleksa Janković, which satisfies the general notability guideline (WP:GNG).
- Specifically:
- Mozzart Sport — coverage of his move to Voždovac and discussion of his early career. These are independent sports news articles on a major Serbian sports media outlet.
- Kurir — a national newspaper reporting on his signing for Čukarički with context about the transfer.
- Nova.rs — a mainstream Serbian news outlet covering his significant injury and the impact on his playing time.
- B92 — broadly reputable Serbian broadcaster reporting on Čukarički’s UEFA Europa Conference League participation, in which Janković appeared.
- These are not mere database entries or trivial match listings (e.g., Soccerway, Transfermarkt). They are articles in independent news sources discussing his career developments, which constitutes significant coverage in a reliable source per WP:GNG.
- The article has been rewritten to draw on these sources directly and frame the narrative around them rather than just presenting statistics, which aligns with the usual expectations for biographical articles on Wikipedia.

- Transfer news is WP:ROUTINE. GiantSnowman 13:09, 25 January 2026 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman Weak keep. While sourcing is limited and mostly routine, the player has had a sustained professional career in a top-flight league. Borderline case, but may still be acceptable as a basic professional biography. Боки 💬 📝 16:15, 25 January 2026 (UTC)
- I suggest you actually impose the article, and then ping me when done, so I can reconsider. GiantSnowman 16:51, 25 January 2026 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman I’ve substantially expanded the article with multiple independent sources and added prose coverage of his career. Could you please take another look? Боки 💬 📝 17:10, 25 January 2026 (UTC)
- One of the sources you’ve added doesn’t work – this one – and is not independent anyway. The rest are, as suspected, ROUTINE transfer and injury news. Anything else out there? GiantSnowman 17:13, 25 January 2026 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman @GiantSnowman sources added from independent Serbian national sports media (Mozzart Sport, B92, Arena Sport) with multiple non-routine match and interview coverage. Please reconsider. Боки 💬 📝 17:24, 25 January 2026 (UTC)
- You’ve just removed sources?! GiantSnowman 17:28, 25 January 2026 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman Thanks for taking another look. I have removed the non-working source.
- The remaining coverage is not just routine database or transfer listings. It includes:
- • pre-match squad reports,
- • interviews,
- • match reports naming him specifically,
- • and dedicated transfer articles in national sports media (Mozzart Sport, B92, Arena Sport).
- Per WP:GNG, significant coverage in reliable independent sources does not require long features — multiple independent news articles that discuss the player directly are sufficient.
- These are established Serbian national sports outlets (not club pages or statistics databases), so they meet the independence requirement.
- If there are still concerns, please clarify what type of coverage you would consider sufficient, as the current sourcing already goes beyond routine listings.
